He might have let in a try but scored one himself.
Was his tackle on staggs that seen Ronnie score.
He was instrumental in Tracey try.

He played a part in letting in 2 tries

He played a part in 2 for us.

Cancelled out.

His tackle efficiency was a paltry 54.5 %. You usually like that one and crucify people on it. Made 6 missed 4

He ran 200 metres.

Cancelled out.

He played like an emergency centre, which is what he was. Kudo's for that but he was hardly outstanding

Milfs was actually in a lead up to a try, my bad.
I still think Talaks was forward but it was no where near the worst one out there.

Floated forward at worst IMO

I don't think he threw it forward. This looks like a backwards motion doesn't it?

He’s thrown that a metre back.

3 - Rudolph
2 - Graham
1 - Talakai

Wade was in the bottom of the pile but what he did in the last 10 minutes effectively won us the game.

Well no. I just didn't screenshot the whole thing. Ronnie caught it a 0.5 to 1.0 meter past the line but the point I was making it was thrown backwards. That is supposedly the rule after all.

The game could do worse than a simple change in terminology. Don't call them forward passes. Call them passes thrown forward. Or offside pass where it only matters that the receiver is behind the passer - like with kicks.

Such a simple thing that has become so complicated

Commentators should also learnt to shut up and stop trying to be the next gerbil to coin a new phrase. They come up with words and phrases which are NOT in the Rules of the Game and they become normalised. Separation is a favourite. Has never once been written into the rules.

Forward passes is a big bug-bear of mine.

The amount of passes (Thrown back) called forward by stupid touchies pisses me off.

The reason why I say that was a metre back as I take in consideration where the catcher was when it was passed & if it hits them on the chest.

It’s all relative...

Relatively speaking, yes, it is relative.

So just make it an offside pass. If the catcher is in front when ball is passed. Penalise. The rules actually say that anyway. Let all the others go. Don't even call a scrum.

Having said that, when the rules are read it is so fekking simple it defies intelligence to see it managed so badly

Direction of Pass 1. - The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running towards his opponents’ goal line may throw the ball towards a colleague who is behind him but because of the thrower’s own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the ground. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not passed the ball forward in relation to himself. This is particularly noticeable when a running player makes a high, lobbed pass.

Scrum for Forward Pass - A forward pass in a passing movement is invariably caused by misjudgment and is rarely a deliberate offence. Play is re- started with a scrum after an accidental infringement.

Penalty for some forward passes - If the Referee is of the opinion that a player in giving a forward pass must have been well aware that the catcher was in front of him then the referee is justified in ruling that the ball has been deliberately thrown forward.

Ball is blown or bounces forward - If the ball is passed correctly but bounces forward or is blown forward by the wind, there is no infringement and play should continue.

Knock-on over Goal line - After a player, from the field of play, knocks on into his opponent’s in-goal area and he or a colleague touches down, play is re-started with a scrum where the knock-on occurred, except after a play-the-ball subject to Section 12, Law 10.

How is this so hard?

I don't get the sj love. Sharks had them on the ropes but SJ could not put them away. Lucky Wade made 2 massive plays last ten mins.

Johnson wasn’t as dominant as he has been in past games but he had some nice touches.

Also Wade made some desperate tackles in the middle when the Broncos opened us up.

He was definitely my man of the match.

Talakai got us some awesome momentum and metres with his runs and scored a great try. Love the stamina of the big guy as well.

Happy with Thrown Forward. Can’t have offside passes though. Receivers can end legitimately in front of the passer when they catch it if both have different forward momentum....if you mean the receiver needs to be behind the passer at the point of ‘seperation’ a passer can conceivably stand still and throw a long pass forward 10 metres the receiver can hit at a run.

3 wadeo. Massive inspirational skipper knock
2 BHU. Great impact
1 Ronaldo. This dude is hands down my favourite shark atm. It is no coincidence we are winning with him in the side. His enthusiasm is rubbing off on others. Must be a joy to play with.

Yes Eion. Thats actually what I said. "Or offside pass where it only matters that the receiver is behind the passer - like with kicks."

Seperation is not relevant, that was to do with commentators always saying it at try situations. It's not part of the rules. The word isn't even in them

Your 10 metre thing is possible I suppose but the bit about thrown backwards would stay as well.

So thrown backwards, receiver must be behind at time of pass. everything else is covered. Floating, hitting the deck then bouncing forward etc. Its all in there.

The problem as I see it is everyone is hung up on looking at lines and flight paths of the ball when the rules are actually quite literal.

Also, I would be happy with thrown forward if the numbats could work it out and stick to it. Especially the numbats with the flags

It would take the storm 5 minutes to abuse the offside thing and the game would resemble gridiron.

I don’t think forward passes are a massive issue, will always be subjective to a point...and I’m happy for the refs to err on the side of the attack, pulling up howlers

That’s an awesome rule & yes, bloody simple.

That last sentence is so obvious yet stupid touch judges pull up the long, floating pass to a winger so much!

There was a couple of times we had numbers outside him but he decided to kick. The ball only had to go through the hands and we were in.

He was off last night, normally he would take full advantage, I hope
