Honestly, I feel like it's almost inevitable that there's a loss coming in the next week or two. I don't think we're playing that well- but it's pleasing to be winning regardless.

I agree. I look at the table and I'm not hating it but I look at our team and I can't reconcile. I still think we are a fringe 8 side who is way overacheiving!

That's the NRL - it's so hard to get up every week and produce what we're doing. We've been in a grind most weeks and you inevitably have an off week at some stage. That won't be time for panic at all

The comp is just so wide open. We've lost heavily to the other top 4 sides, just as we did in 2023 but beat the 5-8 teams reasonably regularly and nearly always beat the bottom 8 in that year.

I don't feel like we're overachieving now that I see what sides 5-17 are doing. We're just mentally coping better than the others

Our yardstick is beating the Raiders in a couple of weeks time. They are a quality side that are probably 3rd favorites right now

I thought there would be more vitriol for DWZ. He was truly awful on defence. How many of their tries were due to his terrible calls in defence. The pass that he put down in the danger zone was a bad pass. I'll give him that.

And did the team not look way better with TMM on the field! That guy can also tackle.

Like everyone above, I agree we are overachieving. We are definitely benefiting from a favourable draw. Even the Storm are a little inconsistent. The Bulldogs appear the benchmark for this year.

yeh it seems like a mirage at the moment, but id rather be banking points early then having must win games at the end of the season to make the 8. I think it is quite similar to our 2018 season and our f/a will probably bite us on the bum again if we dont get some blowout wins. The Storm beatdown was very costly.

yeah, I guess he has been cut some slack because it’s his first game back and we don’t have many options. But yes, awful.

I think someone here alluded to it elsewhere, but it must be part of Webby's plan for the wingers to keep jamming in - it can't be that DWZ, RTS, Taine are all having the same insane idea. Is the plan to jam in and get more numbers in the middle in the hope of shutting down any wider attacks early?

It's working... somewhat okay at the moment, but it requires us to shut down the spread of the ball and catch / block long passes in a hail mary style. If those passes connect we're toast.

I don't like this plan.

Yeah I would have gone harder but it's his first game back. He was atrocious. And this is not new for him. He also dropped all four (?) of his intercept attempts, at least one should have been caught all day long.

I'm not sure we are benefitting from a favourable draw...we have played 2 of the top 3 other than us, and 5 of the top 8 in nine matches. After this week we will have an even split of home and away games.
