3. Matulino
2. Packer
1. Johnson -- thought this was perhaps his best game of the season in terms of controlling where we started our defensive sets (or got the ball back)
Mateo unlucky. Got MoM from Fox, but while he was good, i didn't think he was our best. His form's building nicely, though. Last two weeks he's been offloading more, and all of them have been good. Making good meters. I think the move to lock has suited him, especially now with Locke back and sniffing around the ruck.
Manu also unlucky not to get points. Had a pearler tonight, both offensively and defensively. Didn't overplay his hand. Played well last week, adn better this week, so hopefully he's getting back to top form.Nice to see him dive on that grubber instead of trying to scoop it and run.
How great is it to have Locke back? Superb positioning all game. An early grubber from Walsh probably would've seen them score if Fish or Ropati had been back there, or at least earned a dropout, but Locke charged onto it, got it in the field of play, and set us up for a huge set. Also did marvelously well to stay in play late in the game, too.
Steve Rapira looked poor first half, but did better second half.
Hope Mara's injury isn't too bad. Brown did a better job this week than last, but i wouldn't want him as my premier hooker.
ETA: Matulino now has 12 Dally M points. Right up there. Only prop ahead of him (on 13) is Aaron Woods. If Matulino gets the type of minutes every night he got tonight he'll blow Woods out of the water. That being said, i'm not sure exactly how many minutes Matulino got, but it looked to be quite a few more than usual.
