Great. A positive game, with plenty of options for Man of the Match.

3- Manu. Perhaps somewhat sentimental, but he was undoubtedly sensational tonight.
2- Mateo. Best game at 13, and for the Warriors this year.
1- Matulino. Big metres, big minutes.

Great games also from Johnson, Packer and (predictably) Mannering.

Happy!!

3 Mateo
2 Matulino
1 Johnson - controlled things beautifully

Packer unlucky, outstanding game again. Finally delivering on his enormous potential?

I feel like my 3 for Manu was too fueled by the satisfaction I got watching him stick it to his critics tonight. Oh well...

What did Manu really do any differently this week from the last few weeks?

He still ran hard and he still, if we accept refs calls, came up with a massive error at a crucial moment

Well, I had him in my 3-2-1 last week as well.

I think things just went his way tonight. Great to see.

3. Matulino
2. Packer
1. Johnson -- thought this was perhaps his best game of the season in terms of controlling where we started our defensive sets (or got the ball back)

Mateo unlucky. Got MoM from Fox, but while he was good, i didn't think he was our best. His form's building nicely, though. Last two weeks he's been offloading more, and all of them have been good. Making good meters. I think the move to lock has suited him, especially now with Locke back and sniffing around the ruck.

Manu also unlucky not to get points. Had a pearler tonight, both offensively and defensively. Didn't overplay his hand. Played well last week, adn better this week, so hopefully he's getting back to top form.Nice to see him dive on that grubber instead of trying to scoop it and run.

How great is it to have Locke back? Superb positioning all game. An early grubber from Walsh probably would've seen them score if Fish or Ropati had been back there, or at least earned a dropout, but Locke charged onto it, got it in the field of play, and set us up for a huge set. Also did marvelously well to stay in play late in the game, too.

Steve Rapira looked poor first half, but did better second half.

Hope Mara's injury isn't too bad. Brown did a better job this week than last, but i wouldn't want him as my premier hooker.

ETA: Matulino now has 12 Dally M points. Right up there. Only prop ahead of him (on 13) is Aaron Woods. If Matulino gets the type of minutes every night he got tonight he'll blow Woods out of the water. That being said, i'm not sure exactly how many minutes Matulino got, but it looked to be quite a few more than usual.

3 ~ Johnson: Aside from his dropped ball, played a perfect game, passing and especially kicking was pin point and he took the line on multiple times causing the defence to constantly be in two minds.
2 ~ Manu: Typical strong Manu game, good hit ups, quality finishing and as a bonus has some superb defence.
1 ~ Matulino: Seemed like he was out there longer than usual but instead of it hampering him it only seemed to make him run harder, one of, if not the, best props in the game, such an asset.

Mateo really unlucky, thought he was having a solid game and then he cleaned up that grubber that was speeding along shortly followed by his superb run and set up for Locke's try.
Speaking of whom it was great to have him at the back once again, he was everywhere. That kick that came careening off Hurrell was going out for all money yet somehow Locke gets back, grabs it, avoids sliding out and lays an offload back for Tupou to keep the ball in play and out of Panther possesion, superb.
Packer was damn good too, his go forward was solid and he has a tremendous bench celebration on him.

How about that ball control!...Unbelievable that the boys held on to the ball all through the second half while hitting it up.

3 - Matulino - a machine
2 - Johnson - kicking so well in those conditions was a huge factor in the win
1 - Mateo - his second half was fantastic, started dominating every facet (including grubbers!)

Hon mentions: Manu, Packer and rest of the forward pack.
We smashed them up the middle.
Manu down for two errors according to NRL.com - would that be the 'knock on' no try and the fingertips to a horrible pass way above his head from Benry. Rough.

Ball control was simply superb.
Top notch team effort for 65 minutes. Quarter of an hour they were horrible.

Onwards and upwards...

Aside- how does Maloney still miss 5 tackles in the most perfect tackling conditions a little fella could ever have?

haha mate I didn't want to bring it up but if you ever want an example of how NRL stats are bullshit like I keep saying....

Manu gets 2 errors for that. Bill Tupou shells a kick and kicks away a good try scoring chance, 1 error. Ben Henry throws the ball over the sideline at a crucial time, 0 errors.

^ I dunno about that. I'd almost say we need to split up Matulino and Packer. They're easily the most dominant props we have, and we look like a different side when they're off.

3. Matulino. 230 odd metres in his game time is a mammoth effort, even against a weak forward pack.
2. Johnson. I have a feeling we could have been made to look stupid if it weren't for Johnson controlling the game well.
1. Mateo. Often didn't look like he was making metres to me, but he kept busy and the evidence is in the stats. Offloads and set up Maloney for his try, great game.

Vatuvei had good game. A good game for him being that he didn't cost us a try and scored the ones he should have. Should have been in for a hat trick though >_<
