3- Lawton- never going to be perfect, but we looked so much more enterprising with him at hooker.
2- Maumalo- the better, safer Fusitu'a
1- Harris- a typical performance from him in 2020. So reliable with the ball and without it.

HM-
Katoa
Hiku- not a perfect game, but he managed Manu well

I also thought we managed Tedesco well.

Dishonourable mentions-
Tevaga- for all the energy he brings, he is a total meathead

I thought Sutton reffed well

DM - agree with Meth. I cant buy into what Tevaga supposedly brings to the team with his energy. He runs around like a headless chook. Makes low percentage plays which result in penalties and even his tackling is ineffective. He either misses the player completely and then has to come in as the 3rd man when the tackles already complete, or he tries to dislodge the ball in the tackle opening himself up for another penalty. He is Blair 2.0 lite.
DM - Verdict is in on Pompey now that hes played at his preferred position. Dud. Move him on. Runs up to the line slower than Blair and thats saying something.

To be honest, Taunoa Brown and Hetherington (to a lesser degree) have got a lot of wraps, but I thought they were pretty poor. I was particularly annoyed at JTB falling off another soft tackle defending our line. They started well enough but dropped off fast

Maybe I am being a bit too harsh on Hetherington, particularly. But this difference between JWH/SST and us in the middle was stark

Really loved seeing the mongrel on defence....the resilience they showed is what I want to see every week. Guttered about the soft try Manu scored but I think at that stage it was about 25 tackles inside the warriors 20m so you could see they were out on the feet.

Shame we still can't ice those 50/50chances on attack...

Didn’t see the game at all but is Tevaga the new Gubb ? Runs around like a headless chook which can look great for the fans but is achieving nothing for the side

Manu went straight through CHT about 2m out. I know he’s young and still growing into his body etc etc but if you’re good enough, you’re old enough. The more i see CHT this year, the more it seems he’s just not quite there yet. Definitely could still be over time but just don’t think he’s the answer over the next year or 2. He’s certainly someone whose missing out on no reserve grade comp
