Am I the only one that thought Bird was shit? He had that magical pass and a couple of fends that created space, but he was dominated hard by Morris in that first half. Missed tackles, got bumped off constantly, simple dropped ball. His great pass simply made up for his errors for mine.

I know his good touches were good, but his 'normal' stuff at centre is poor.

Yep
Flummoxed as to how people rated his game higher than barba or fafita

No-one has given points to Townsend but I thought he went well again.

Scored the try to get us going from a terrible slumber & was dogged in defence.

I know Robbo was praised for his defence, & rightly so, but I don't think we have lost too much with Chad there...his defence is immaculate for a little bloke.

3 Fifi - big man made some great meters and constantly attracted multiple defenders and took them along for the ride.
2 Barba - so dangerous in attack. I'm not sure how fast Hoppa is, but Barba rounded him up easily.
1 Maloney - thought he went looking for the ball when he needed to and injected some speed and enthusiasm (which was generally lacking all night). The kick on fulltime to win it was so sweet.

Honourable mention to Leutele. Came in later and played great. One good try and another 50/50 one denied. What's he like under the high ball? Potential winger?

Considering he said was against the centre who has dominated GI, the last fe years defensively, I though he was great with the ball.

When he Defends he still needs to learn but was pretty good. I bad miss, and read the Bulldogs attack fairly well. They didn't throw too much at him.

That dogs side has a defensive structure that didn't allow centres and wingers to go well.

Bird did well against Morris, kept him real quiet in defense all night.

Deadset try.

Grounded the ball slightly before the line & it slid forward onto the line with momentum, with his hand still in contact with the ball.

Refs didn't really know, so said "no try". Another case of their should be an "I've no idea" option & let the video ref decide with an open mind.

Nah, the media and by extension you, have short memories. Either that or they are just continuing down the looking for something to complain about, path.

The refs used to send it up with no idea and then looked stupid when it came back down again because view was obstructed as "Reffs Call".

This way is much better. The only other way to fix it if you want to send it up with no idea, is if view is obstructed benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking player and the try is awarded.

I like that they make a decision but sometimes they are just guessing dew to not being in good position.

I can't remember but did Beale continue in the centres when Loots came on? or did he switch to wing?

He stayed at centre, and that may have contributed to us winning it. Pretty sure Beale threw the last pass for Leuele's 'almost' try, and, even though Barba's cut-out pass set up the game-winning try for Leutele, Beale is much more of a threat at centre than Leutele.

Leutele DID do well to be in the right spot at the right time twice, and he did his best to get involved at our own end, when the forwards were absolutely shot.

Ok yeah thought so. Feki and Loots need lessons from Holmes on how to score in the corner imo...

Yes, they need to get their body and legs in the air, and their right arm grounding the ball.

Then again, Feki is great at bulldozing, so Holmes' technique is not going to work all the time.

They swapped around. In defence Beale was the winger, in attack Beale was centre.

3 Maloney
2 Barba
1 Bird

Those 3 won us the game.
