3-2-1 vs Manly

3 - Fisiahi (by far his best game at FB, solid at the back, hit the line at pace, went looking for work and mistake-free)
2 - Matulino (his usual self)
1 - Mateo (a constant menace, especially in the first half)

-1 - Johnson (wasn't his day today, but luckily he did have his kicking boots on as that ended up being the difference.)

3 Matulino - hard defence started to slow down their ruck speed, and that's even before we look at how awesome he was taking the ball forward. Nearly another back flip offload try for Leuluai from Mats too.
2 Fisiiahi - great positioning all day, always looked a threat. Before the game I'm sure most were thinking we were in trouble without Locke, but that was a very good fullbacks performance today. TBF, Peta Hiku was outstanding too and would have made a very good Warrior.
1 Mateo - the skill is back baby. There's no better offloader in the game IMO. Every set he's involved, he essentially creates another tackle play every set. That becomes very telling.

3.Mateo, his new contract must have some sort of performance incentive built into it.
2.Lillyman- more direct than normal don't recall him dropping the ball every second time he got it.
1. Fishiahi-I eat my words, kept busy involved in everything he possibly could be, made the odd error but who doesn't, starting to change my mind on him.
honerable mention to Simon, doing a Matai on Matai-good stuff

3 - Matulino

3 - TL

2nd half performance was awesome - manned up on D and got into a grind, Manly blinked first.

Apart from the above, hon mentions to Mateo, Friend, Packer and Taylor. Also to Johnson, while not a great game I thought he made a real effort on defence, including chopping down some big forwards one on one (still missed a few, but 19 tackles)

Peter Hiku was awesome.

Gentlemen, the Warriors are officially on a roll. Keep it going and we have still have a shot of sneaking into the finals.

We have a reasonable chance against the Chooks, they are still winning but last few games not looking as sharp as earlier in the season.

2. Lillyman- powerhouse meters without offloads
1. Taylor- IMO best game in a warriors jumper

1 - Matulino
2 - Fisiiahi
1 - Mateo, just edges Lillyman. Not as dominant as previous few weeks but still showing enough power and skill to trouble the opposition defence.

3. Mateo - finally believing he is the x Factor that he should be
2. Fish - didnt put any foot wrong
1. Matulino

special mention - Lillyman - tough on the tackle all day

-1. Johnson - had quiet day - sonny, you need to man up on tackle

Good news for our Top 8 chances with Tigers sneaking a win over Panthers. If the Broncos beat Canberra tomorrow, and we beat the Chooks, Broncos and bank the bye, we could be on the cusp of the Top 8 in only three weeks. Not getting ahead of myself of course, nor over analyzing things. Much.

Looking at the draw through to round 26, we have a hard run that's fer sure...

We've actually got 2 byes as well as Chooks Broncs and Souths over the next five rounds. I don't think it's outside the bounds of reason to hope we come away with at least 8 of those 10 points.

Some of Mateos offloads were freakish
I know you guys are down on Taylor but he was great as well, it will be a disgrace if Lowrie comes back and takes his spot
Johnson is a big concern for you guys heading forward

Lillyman excellent as well.
Manu was on and off, but loved his effort in goal to prevent drop out.
Its a pity Fishi doesn't step up consistently, as a winger he can't float around like today.
Before kick off wasn't confident with the late chances and the first 20mins didn't help.
Also got worried when Mateo and Matulino went off in second half.
Good to get a close win and can prove they can do it.
3 wins in a row!

after being told he's not wanted beyond this year, Nathan Friend showed what an absolute professional he is.

Play of the day goes to Manu. 12 -0 down and facing another defensive set on our line pulls out some magic and if I'm not mistaken we score in following set.

Elliott was taped today saying he didn't want to lose Friend? So he has no say in the matter?

3. Matulino - I can't give it to someone else when I see he's chopped 167 metres.
2. Friend - his usual gutsy self. Plus, in those last few tackles at the end - with the game in the bag surely - I'm glad the ball was in his hands.
1. Lillyman - wanted to give him a point last week but couldn't.

Had to endure the game in a crap pub (Red Cow - Penrith - for those familiar). They had no idea how to present a game of football (loud music, aggro bar staff, young sillies shouting over the game...)

Once home I enjoyed our Phil's thread like usual. Much more than watching the game actually.
