3. Johnson - bossed that game, he got us in it, kept us in it and then won it for us
2. Kata - showed some real footy smarts to get us in position in GP and made alot of good runs
1. Hoffman - been a critic of his but he consistently got his nose through the line and provided some great leadership

HM: Thomas, was next in line for points, played the perfect foil for Johnson

3 - Johnson. We'll ignore how woeful he is at setting up for a drop goal, because it's such a small part of the game
2- Matulino. Absolute powerhouse. Still would like to see him start.
1- Luke. Full commitment to the cause.

3. Shaun Johnson- Smart footy all game keeping penny pinned in their own half all game. Clutch try stole it.
2. Lilleyman-not the metres but the smart plays and quick play-the-balls. Also some crunching well read trysavers.
1. Maumalo-metres and willingly taking the ball to a "very flat and fast" defensive line and making yards.

3: Mannering. No penalties or errors and 61 tackles. Massive game in everything upon watching replay.

2: Johnson: hard to look past the kicking game 9/10, final try, drew defense holding up pass for tries. Need a different field goal option though.

1:Kata, only because of one on one steal that saved the game for us.

Big up to Manu with an error free game, Matulino for over 150m and charge down, when it looked like backs doing all the work.

I'm calling out Hoffman for some shit defensive calls or reads that have directly resulted in tried the last 2 weeks.
We have a much better defensive bot in Mannering, we need a back rower offering something in attack.
Stood and watch ManSauce be shirt grabbed. Week before ran past tackle to short side to leave massive gap in middle for Raiders to run thru.

I can't agree, thought he got his nose through the line consistently tonight and ran it strong but had no one in support.

Also I reckon his leadership is getting through to the boys finally, some of his sprays behind the posts look epic

Always good to disagree.
But for an experienced campaigner he made some amateur calls resulting in a reason to be behind the posts.
He offered less meters that Mannering who made double the tackles.
Do I think he would ever be dropped? No
But he needs to be called out for bad calls directly resulting I tries.

A quick review of Hoffman's game.

He ran an ineffective line in tackle bulid up to Fus try (didn't draw defense attention).
Held up over line.
Bent the line but slipped.
Caught a slipping DWZ in goal.
Couldnt regather ball after DWZ knocked on TL kick thru, before Scrum leading to Maumalo try.
Standing flat in line before Lisone dummy and held up overline.
2nd half:
Stood and watched Clearly mid field bomb, didn't go with TL in front to present a line, jogged back when Clearly made the break, lucky intercepted by Luke.
Credit for chasing SJ average bomb to stop kick return.
He is standing around with hands on hips a lot while others looking for work on attack in repeat set before Fus second.
Watched ManSauce walk thru!
Had a few runs out wide but looked to slow to take advantage of own space.
Fox didn't record golden point.

McFail took Mannering off and left Jazz out their when Luke came back on.
If you can watch back replay in fast forward if you don't have the time. Mannering is in everything! Tackling, jogging along side players like Lolo.
So much so I'm changing my 3,2,1 to Mannering for 3.

3. Mannering - before I read Phil's post I was giving the three to Johnson. Anyway, have a look how many times Mannering wraps up dangerman Cartwright, not just tackling but preventing off-loads.

2. Johnson - his often maligned kicking game is becoming top-notch. If he can't run then at least kick good!

1. Luke - he's often becoming the difference for us in these tight games. The difference between getting rolled and at least keeping it close. He kicks goals too.

Hm. Fus - I believe he's our matchwinner outside Johnson. Lillyman and Vete good, Hoff and Mutts for that Moylan chargedown on fulltime. That looked like it was a good chance of going over. Can you imagine that? Losing on the siren?

Only caught the second half. Interesting that on main LU game thread a lot of grief at Johnson from warrior fans for being rocks and diamonds. Apart from drop goal he was all class to me. In fact, he has done exactly what we have all wanted him to do in recent months - control the game and do the traditional half things well. But then he gets some grief for not running enough...

Didn't see that. Johnson was praiseworthy throughout the game

3. Mannering - one of those games where he was in everything, in a good way rather than a Gallen (sometimes) way
2. Fusitua - sign him up long(er) term. he's on contract for 2017, get him signed further.. because teams will come for him
1. Vete - horrid miss on Mansour (it was him, wasn't it? my memory is a little hazy.. not gonna lie, I had a few), but HUGE going forward, massive metres and 4 offloads without an error

hm. Matulino (the other machine in our pack tonight), Johnson (only missed points because he still hasn't learned how to set up and successfully kick a drop goal given many opportunities), Tui & TL for some dangerous attacking plays and Luke for getting out of DH nicely on multiple occasions, plus a very good kick to the ingoal.

Luke is warming up nicely, god if only RTS was available.

Wasn't too impressed with Tui.. His kick returns leave a lot to be desired IMO.. Fus should have stayed at the back with Tui at #3

Wonder what the musical chairs will look like next week

3. SJ (suburb kicking to turn Moylan around all night, apart from a few cockups near the end)
2. Matulino (big metres. Steadied the ship down the middle when we needed it)
1. Mannering (nearly perfect defence)

Hon: Kata (that strip!), Fus, Vete (especially his first 20)

Sorry I can't give Luke points after that absolute brain explosion in GP. Should have won the game on that play with an easy dropkick.
