Hate to say it, but I cannot see any team outside the Roosters, Souths, Melbourne or Canberra taking out the premiership this year. Dragons- no hope. There has to be consistency to make the 8, but even more consistency to make the top four. There is simply not enough class in the backs overall, and the forwards are under performing. Sure there are injuries, but the better teams are able to cope with that scenario adequately. My pick (hope i am wrong). is 11th place this year. The long term injury to Widdop and the de Belin fiasco have had a huge impact on the season so far.

In all due respect even if both were playing we will never win a premiership with this coach.

Widdop is surplus to our requirements and may even be disruptive if he is selected in the 13. We will soon know if we get JDB back and if we do we will most certainly be in a better place.

Interesting interview just heard on radio with a Broncos representative ( not Seibold ) who commented that whilst they had a few young players showing inexperience at present , playing Canterbury cup wont help get this experience. Now our master coach is giving Rav this luxury but ignoring Timms, Kerr & up until last week Field & Lomax.

It will be interesting to see if they loose to knights, how much McGregor will cop in the media...seeing as that will be 4 in a row.

I think McGregor already has his scapegoat for this season with the JDB drama and injuries to key players...

Mary's Missus hasn't had her run yet this year. If the media start taking him to task, we can expect her to have a hissy fit at some of the players for not performing.......Houdini still has a lot of arrows in his quiver to fire.

Agree- but there are five key requirements for a team to win a premiership. Good forwards, good backs, good depth for both forwards and backs, a good spine but by far the biggest requirement is a good coach. We have only 3/4 of a good spine (Dufty is the exception), average to below average outside backs and poor impact so far off the bench. However, even with these deficiencies, if we swap Mary for Bellamy, I believe we win the Premiership.

Storm lose 1 game by 2 pts and everyone is on notice and they come out and smack Parra 64-10. Saints lose 3 games, the last 2 winnable after being ahead and totally dominating the opposition, and they get rewarded. That is why Storm are in Finals and Dragons are a laughing stock. Mary wake up.....Does he even watch the games or just pretend he is watching when instead is checking any good sorts sitting in the stands. That is what it looks like he is doing.

Give Mary a break..

He needs to team to lose by two points before he can replicate Bellamy..

It’s not his fault the team keeps blowing out the losses..

Thread title should be ‘5 years with the coach dishing up the same selection sh*t’.
I hoped for a couple of changes but didn’t expect it. We’d only get change if Marketo was still at the club(no disrespect intended).
Jake is still running around in Townsville (at least last year he was) after playing rugby in Romania (!). I'm sure he would consider a return to us if the price was right.

We are a mediocre club run by people with mediocre business skills...The amount of mistakes this club has made in the past and continues to make bedazzles me...We've won 1 comp in 30 odd years. I can go on and on about all of the mistakes they have made that everyone but this stupid club can see...I'm hoping they have a better idea than me in relation to what they are doing...I can only wish...rant over

Insightful article in Foxsports about Bellamy and what his attitude was after their Cronulla loss.
The players pulled their socks up in no uncertain terms because they wanted to please the coach and feel worthy of belonging to the Storm 17.
Highlights the chasm between "Player's Pal" McGregor and his "harmonious" approach to coaching and Bellamy who sets a white hot standard in coaching.
Difference...one is leading the comp and will be in the mix when the whips are cracking and the other will be happy to make the 8.
Sorry for lamenting.

And instead of taking notice of the good things done in seasons 2009/2010, we lazily fall back into the easy/self interested decisions that proved unsuccess before and post this era.

Dennis, I believe Bellamy gets on with his players also because they recognise his professionalism. Whereas I think our guys (any with brains) just like to laugh with/at our imposter.
