Maybe the smartest posters are able to acknowledge who the true Idiot is. And that doesn't specifically refer to you, just your generalizations. I won't play first grade, the same way as smart as you are footy wise, you'll never be a first grade coach.

That's because it was f**king stupid.

In the late 80s/early 90s there was no salary cap and teams at the bottom stayed there forever. Now the salary cap is doing its job. Since 2005 every team that got the wooden spoon was playing in the finals the next year, except Penrith who did it in three, and the Titans who challenged this year.

The comp is tight now, and wooden spoons are decided by injuries and luck, just like premierships are.

oh yeah ... silly me i keep forgetting, it was only a jarryd hayne injury and a little bit of bad luck that left us with the spoon this year
