Agree on the 50:50 - teams very evenly matched

We need Taylor back and the selectors to admit they were wrong and bat the Pig above Broom and Franklin...

im gonna be there... took the day off work so it should be a good day. if its anything like the last CH game there its gonna be a cracker!!

i hope they dont drop Broom... the bloke has earnt his call up to the top side with very good domestic performances. and he hasnt been too bad so far... he played a crucial part in the first ODI win... and the bloke got out first ball in the 2nd game... that can happen to anyone imo...

but i do agree they should have pig higher up the order. when taylor gets back i think were gonna look alot better. imo with Ryder, Elliot, Taylor & Mills into that side were looking very good.

and adding to that... Kane Williamson scored 170 today for ND V Wellington... maaan that kid must be close...

I think the Rug maybe rested to give Mckay a go.. Doug has been below par in this series, I say save him for the tests..

Yea Bollinger looks gone right now so a rest could do him good, may as well give McKay a try.

wtf?

WTF?!?

Hallucinations?
he averaged 50 last season in domestic cricket... and hes averaging close to 85 this season. so he deserves his call up...

and he played a crucial part in the win in napier by halting Australia's momentum. Guptil (9 off 30) & Franklin (12 off 31) got NZ into a hole by batting slowly... Broom came in and started turning the strike over instantly with taylor. sure he got out... but him and Taylor changed the momentum of the innings.

Though I'm pretty sure that Seddon Park is an actual cricket ground as oppose to a rugby stadium that they just happen to play cricket on

Just a side question for you mate (or any other kiwi), I will be in Auckland mid year. Is Hamilton worth visiting and having a look around for a day?

Yep hope they give Shanan Stewart a run, he won't back down from anything, is aggressive and is in great form, with his last 2 of his last 3 innings being 161* and 227*

As much as I try, in all his outings for NZ so far, and he has had a few now, I just don't see much in Broom. Plays a nice shot every now and again but is far from convincing

to be honest mate unless your coming for an event this place is pretty boring... having said that... if your in auckland i would say get out of that hole any chance you can get... i would bypass Hamilton mate and head out to Tauranga... Taupo... or Rotorua. or go north mate... im from the bay of islands so im a bit biased... but mate... theres no place better imo..

im not particularly a big fan of broom... but i think its really important to reward blokes who have performed at domestic level.

the same a couple of seasons ago with Michael Papps he had a couple of seasons when he averaged over 100... but he was given bugger all chance at the top level... i couldn't stand the little midget... but i think its criminal the way he was treated.

fair enough, cheers

Will try check them out. Will do some touristy things in auckland eg bridge climb/jump, volcano tour, skycity look/jump, Zoo/underwater world, cruise to some of the nearby islands, etc...But yeah would like to be a bit rustic and branch further out. I had planned to go further north for a look

Yeah the treatment of Papps was... weird. As far as his ODI career goes at least, he copped one from Lee at his best and that was the end of that for him.

I personally reckon Broom is more a test player, although, the recent lbw's off the first ball where he plants his front leg down middle irrespective of the line is a big technical issue.
