It'll be interesting to see how the wicket plays at Eden Park.

They had a Super Rugby game there last weekend so it would've had to be removed for that and now would have been reinstalled for this game.

Then the day after the game will host the Warriors v Manly game.

Ryder, Bracewell dropped for breaking protocol
ESPNcricinfo staff
March 1, 2012

Jesse Ryder and Doug Bracewell have been dropped for New Zealand's third ODI against South Africa after they were found to have broken team protocol following the defeat in Napier. Ryder and Bracewell went out after the match and became involved in an argument with a member of a public.

In a statement NZC said the players had "compromised their preparation" for the third one-dayer by their actions. "Team protocols dictate that players who are rehabilitating from injury should not consume alcohol and unfortunately both players went to a Napier hotel following the conclusion of the match," the board said in a release. "Also, while at the hotel both players verbally reacted to taunts from a member for the public."

Bracewell was being treated for a tight hamstring, while Ryder split the webbing of his hand during the Napier match.

"Further to the issue of breaking team protocols related to their preparation, we are disappointed they [Ryder and Bracewell] become involved in a verbal argument with a patron," New Zealand team manager Mike Sandle said. "Despite the fact that the players were goaded, and they didn't allow the situation to escalate past a short exchange of words, we expect players to walk away.

"Both players have apologised for their actions and said they fully understood the consequences. They know they have let down fans and team mates alike."

I understand that because it was Bracewell's first such indiscretion on the international circuit, he is only having the one match ban, where as Ryder is out of the test squad now too and Rob Nicol will take his place there. The good news for New Zealand with regards to that upcoming tests series is that Taylor has been declared fit for it and will play the opening test.

I'd be suprised if we see 100 overs tomorrow or even anything. According to our excitable media a 'weather bomb' is about to hit the country.

M Morkel and Kallis are being rested, Ontong is also out for South Africa. I heard an interview with de Villiers last night where he said that Morkel would be rested from this match because he has not had a break yet, but I am still sad that he's not playing. Albie is likely to open the batting with Amla. I'm excited

For New Zealand, Colin de Grandhomme makes his debut. Also included are Nathan McCullum and Bates. Nethula has been rested. And we already know about Ryder and Bracewell

I'll post the teams and then give a score update, just saw a pretty good catch.

New Zealand:
Rob Nicol, Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum (captain and keeper), Kane Williamson, James Franklin, Andrew Ellis, Kyle Mills, Colin de Grandhomme, Michael Bates, Andy McKay, Nathan McCullum

South Africa
Hashim Amla, Johan Botha, Marchant de Lange, AB de Villiers (captain and keeper), JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Albie Morkel, Robin Peterson, Dale Steyn, Wayne Parnell, Lonwabo Tsotsobe

South Africa in alphabetical order there, because no one can be sure of the batting order. That took me a while to write, Tsotsobe has had a great start and took Guptill's wicket last over, helped by a great catch from du Plessis in backward point. Steyn's first over was a bit off, but bowling beautifully now. After 6 overs, New Zealand are 14/1

I hope New Zealand are better in the tests than they have been in the ODIs. I expected a lot more from them coming into this series, especially with the bat. They had a few good partnerships but there were always collapses. Their tail has seemed quite long and have made it too easy for the Saffa bowlers.

As a Saffa myself, very happy with the clean sweep of the series, there isn't much more I could have asked of my own boys.
