England batsmen throwing it away except Hameed who got a riser.

6 down now. The pitch is expected to turn into a desert so getting a big wcore batting first is a must.

Come on England quit screwing around, you had the toss this time.

Game over imo, expect to see a mountain of runs.

Bit of fight here from England, Rashid has three and now a run out. India 156/5 (53.5 ov)

I can't stand Kohli but I have to admit he's a tough bastard to dislodge when he's going.
His shot selection is one of the best in the world.

Buttler is a freak but how much of a merkin is Kohli? No call, nothing, not even looking at his partner....absolute and total stitch up

I always wonder about Aswhin the batsman, it's a very solid looking record with reasonable runs all around the world. I'm always tempted to call him another flat track bully but he's actually a handy bat and genuine all-rounder.

Then again all his four hundreds are against the useless West Indies

He's passed 500 runs and 50 wickets this year, so he's doing something right.

I think the fact that his hundreds are against the Windies shouldn't take away from his batting at all tbh. It's just a lot easier for a bloke at 8 to get a big score against lowly sides because of time as much as anything. A better side starts skittling his partners and makes it tough for him to get much of a score.

Moving him up the order has been a good move.

Was about to say, is Ashwin the most valuable cricket in the world at present? Record is phenomenal.

Not sure his bowling outside of India is great, but he's been pretty handy of late

He's nowhere near the same bowler away from India, sure, but he still averages less than Nathan Lyon (for example) when he plays away from India so he's not bad either

Just like his bowling, I'd like to see Ashwin bat away from home in unfamiliar conditions before i judge him.

Stokes for mine is the most valuable player in world cricket. A genuine match turner with both bat and ball, England lift when hes out there even if he doesn't score runs or take wickets every time.

That said Ashwin's batting average at home is 40 with 2 centuries , 30 away with 2 centuries so not so bad.

How he fairs against England, south Africa or australia away would be the test.

celebrated when going up for a lbw review, lol, only for it to take forever and favour Cooky lol

then couple balls later, Cooky appeals an lbw given and the ball is pitched outside leg -not out, lol
