ahhh, Goodall, Woodward those were the days - the Aussies offered up Steve Randell LOL

Yeah, the Aussie media loved Billy, obsessed with his camp theatrics and McCullum being nice LOL

Looks like Faf will be suspended now. South Africa have had the ball replaced on them for consistently throwing the ball into the ground to scuff it up.

Raval needs to make a hundred here.

12th innings, 5 times passed 50, only 1 score in single digits during that time.Needs to finish this time.

12 innings and out 7 times between 25-60, that's just a little too Watson for comfort.

Well, yes, but regardless, he's going better than Latham right now.

Shame that the rain will have such a huge influence on this game/series. We are going well here

I haven't been watching up until now, but given there are about 12 pitches on one side of the wicket, how else are they supposed to throw the ball back in? Were they banging it straight into the pitches from short cover or something?

I'm listening to it on the car radio old mate but yes sounds like they were holding the seam crossways and making sure none of their outfield throws were powerful enough to get back to the wicket keeper on the full.

Tbh I was always taught to throw it with the seam cross ways so the ball didn't move around on the way in....not sure that's exactly evidence of deliberate ball tampering.

Personally, I'm perfectly ok with players doing what the South Africans were doing.

nah, why - 100 is just a number, he'd like one obviously but doesn't need it, he's doing a good job

Yep - although they're being a bit petulant now - seems the ball was out of shape and that was the problem...

Of course he's doing a good job, his place isn't at threat, but constantly getting out in the "got a start but didn't go on with it" range does play on a batsman's mind over time.

You can say it's just a number, and for all intents and purposes it is, but batsmen are well aware of these things and it would do Raval a world of good for him to go on and post 3 figures.

That over from Elgar wasn't the worst I've seen in test cricket, but it's a top ten candidate

Nice ton for Williamson and Jeet looking nervous lol

One bad test but we've been pretty good this summer. Long way to go but well on top ATM

Is Jeet Raval a modern day Stephen Fleming? Conversion rate is an issue, although he frequently gets off to a solid start which is a nice bonus.

Raval looked petrified and had no idea once he got to about 80, either severe nerves or exhaustion

Great great knock by Williamson though, it wasn't easy but he looked like he was on another wicket, dare I say Smith like?

Nerves I think. He's had an excellent series. If he had have converted a couple of his starts it would be awesome.
