4 Nations Injury Watch: Foran out for season, NZ done?

If there was any indication of the wretched luck Parramatta has endured this season, it came with the news that captain Kieran Foran had suffered a new shoulder injury that has ended his season.
As revealed by Fairfax Media, Foran was told on Tuesday morning that he had damaged the bicep tendon in his shoulder in the Eels' thrilling win over Newcastle on Monday night. He will have surgery on Thursday to repair the tendon.
Club officials confirmed the injury is different to the shoulder complaint Foran has carried in recent weeks.

Joins RTS in sitting our rest of NRL season. Of course this assumes that being unable to play NRL this year = no Four Nations.

So, whats implications for NZ side? Looking pretty thin in the key positions?

It's ok we've got seasoned professional Benji to step in and help direct our back around.

Sorry, I entered an alternate universe where our coach wasn't a child. We'll be fine Peta Hiku will do the job. :sarcasm:

First of many inevitable withdrawals for NZ. Apart from the 2013 WC I can't remember the last time they didn't send a piss-weak team to the UK.

And the side they put out afew weeks ago in the anzac test was far weaker than the side they sent up here last year for the test series...they seem to be getting worse?

Hard to argue the Kiwi side isn't the best in the world at full strength but they've got the depth of your average puddle after a sun shower. No spine worth feeding outside their top liners.

Yeah and they struggle overseas.. I can see England doing really well in the 4 nations but for NZ, At the moment, They need their best side!! Depth is a problem for NZ and it will be hard to maintain the high standard long term unless they can get a second team in the NRL.. Wish they would be willing to pick Benji..

Jonathon thurston has announced he'll retire at the end of the 2018 season but he'll retire from rep footy in 2017....so this 4 nation is his last "tour"...and retire after the world cup

As ridiculous as it sounds I'd play Benji at 6 to partner Johnson.
Don't rate Harris as a half. Leuluai as bench utility.

rapana's better anyway
Kearney doesn't seem interested though, he was easily the form winger leading up to the ANZAC test.

Kearney would rather lose than play Benji. He'll do something stupid and play Hiku or Harris there again.

Kearney needs to get out pack firing again because we're going to be bumbling idiots in the backs.

NZs attacking performance in the England series was deplorable. Lolohea is another better option than Harris.
I know Benji's had a poor year but in a new structure under a different coach, he'd still have a lot to offer.
