It doesn't really matter to England. Either way they're going to need to beat Australia when they face.

If NZ win they need to beat Aus.
If Aus win, they need to beat Aus by a margin and hope for other results to fall in their favour.

I guess technically it is easier for England if NZ win as a win over Australia would guarantee them a finals spot. An Australian win wouldn't mean they have to beat Australia by a margin or hope for results to go in their favour though. If they were to beat Australia all 3 of NZ, England and Australia would end on 2 wins and it would all come down to F/A. Englands loss was by only by 1 point which puts them in a good place to make the final if all 3 end up on equal wins.

Basically it all comes down to England vs Australia IMO. If England can win that they will make it through to the GF. I don't expect that to happen though.

If Wayne gets them improving across the 3 games they're a good a chance as they've been to jag a win since 2006. Playing Australia last is a good draw for them

I'm not convinced that Bennett is actually a good fit for England. I agree that England have a good chance of beating Australia and they have come close a few times recently. In general though as a fan of international rugby league I've gotten so used to England disappointing in big games that I just assume they'll let me down. I think they have a good chance and I agree playing Australia last and having time to gel is a good thing. I just have no faith in them getting the job done.

Australia need to be challenged, NZ didn't do this in Perth! They played horribly. If Australia are not threatened they will look unbeatable and the class players will dominate. But, if another side comes out and throws the ball around a bit and pulls of a few big defensive sets then Australia might begin to show their age and relative inexperience. I think that both England and NZ are capable of doing this but it's just not what usually happens because they are both too inconsistent. In short both England and NZ have to play at their best to win. The hope is that this 4 nations is the turning point where they both begin to play consistently at that level and both knock off Aus. To be honest though.. don't think it will actually happen even though thats what i'm cheering for. On England and Bennett, If he can get them improving every game they play from now till the world cup.. It's there that they will be a real threat!!
