4TH ASHES TEST: England v Australia at Chester-le-Street Aug 9-13, 2013

Morning troll. You do realise that Australia was highly competitive for two tests and got harshly done by rain in another? With a bit more luck and less a couple of really bad sessions Australia could have been up 3-1 in this series. Not saying England don't deserve to lead, but its nowhere near as one sided as the scoreline suggests or as anyone predicted.

And I don't like either side at all, coming from a complete neutral.

The score is 3-0, England have won by 14, 347 and 74.

Only one was really close in the end you're getting desperate if claiming losing by 74 runs is "close".

The trolling is fair enough - check out the history when Aust were pasting everyone...

Aust's batting just too fragile, flat becks in Aust will help, but at the end of the day only 1 of Aust's top 6 has proven himself in test cricket over an extended period, the others are all marginal at best, and imo some clearly not up to it - averaging 30 playing for Aust is funny, especially considering the roads generally available in Aust to bat on

No. England were better in the three tests they have won. Australia have not played well in some sessions and that's because England have not allowed them to.

Let me just say, any aussie who went trolling English (kiwi, indian, and south African) forums when we were dominant comes across as a poor sport with nothing better to do with their time but act like a wanker. Nothings changed when we get trolls here :)

Never understood trolls.

Most seem to be very simple minded people who can only string a few words or very short sentences together and they seem to post heaps of these  for some reason.

They seem to think it gives their post credibility.

I very rarely respond to them because thats their soul purpose in life, to get a response.

Like I said, not disputing that England deserve to lead. All I am saying is that Australia has done better than the scoreline says being down 3-0 in four tests. I was shooting down the idiot claiming that "it's getting boring winning so easily". There was nothing easy about those wins other than the 2nd test.

Our batsmen let us down. I think the bowlers cancelled each other out.

Their batting was better, thanks to Ian Bell who was consistently good. We had no one come close to what he brought to the table, otherwise we would have won a test , possibly two

Well we came so close at Trent Bridge, unlucky at Old Trafford and wouldve done well in this test if it wasnt for our batting.

Lords was the only test we were disappointing all round.

But once again it was the batting that let us down.

At 0/100 odd we looked so comfortable with Warner and Rogers. Our middle order just cant seem to do well under pressure, why is it that the tail gets more runs than the middle order ?

Parra fans don't take Australia losing as hard because they've barely seen a victory in 3 years and are numb to losing and being humiliated by superior teams and now nations.

Don't understand why you wouldn't have him on ignore. It's not like he occasionally says something clever or interesting, it's the same droll shit ripped straight from 4chan every time.

Also, I have to say Clarke has been so very very disappointing this series. Hasn't really threatened for the most part.

The Warner wicket was the big one

He was looking big and intimidating out there

And then he copped a sucker punch and bailed to a ball that was too good for him!

Agree, 100% - but make no mistake it happened, and the leader was an influential person around here...

On topic though, yes, Aust have had some good sessions - again, that's more reminiscent of a NZ team than an Australian one - England have had extra when it counts, and been more consistent...

Clarke is talented, but perhaps the most overrated bat in the world imo... everyone else in the top 7 either has profound questions (actually with many there are already answers, but perhaps not ones that sit well with Cricket Australia) or their lifespan in test cricket is very limited...

England and RSA are clear of the rest atm, the rest of us are much of a muchness... England and RSA are very good teams, but not great ones... yet anyway... and certainly nowhere near the recent iconic teams (Aust and Windies)

Geez I fell asleep at 0/107

Utterly useless

I agree with TheParraboy, our bowlers cancel out theirs but our batting line up is rubbish

As a whole our bowlers are better than theirs IMO. Yes Anderson and Swann are superstars but I'd take our 4 over their 4.

We've had real chances of winning 3 of these tests and yet we're losing 3-0. Could easily have been 3-1 our way.

Im not gonna buy the "I only bat Number 5" excuse anymore.

If you're a good batsman you bat well no matter where in the middle order you are.
