(There is a 3rd match Zim v SA on the 29th)

A win here by the Australians should propel them into the final :sarcasm:

Playing a few allrounders will work against minnows, but not too sure for the world cup.

I think a good balanced side is 5 specialist batsman (one or two who bowl part time spin) , WK, and allrounder, and 4 specialist bowlers (one or two who can bat a bit eg Johnson)

True, but they need this exposure of they are going to get any better.

If the Zimbots can leave politics to one side forever, then they should be able to build ok over the next few years.

Obviously regular exposure playing the top nations is a must as well, even if England, Aust , SA etc.. send their "A" sides over there for a 2-3 unofficial test series in the interim till they get up to speed.

Whoa better take back that fodder comment (maybe).
Utseya has blown away the middle order with five wickets including a hat trick!

Just Faf and the tail left now
South Africa 156/5 (31.2 ov)

This looks like the side playing today, Clarke back

Australia 1 Aaron Finch, 2 Phil Hughes, 3 Michael Clarke (capt), 4 George Bailey, 5 Glenn Maxwell, 6 Mitchell Marsh, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 James Faulkner, 9 Ben Cutting, 10 Mitchell Starc, 11 Nathan Lyon

Pitch and conditions
With the Harare Sports Club hosting all games of the triangular series, there could be an effect on the pitches and they may get a little slower. According to Clarke, the game could be played on a used track, which can make spin a key factor.

Lyon to destroy them

Take your pick
- Nathan Hauritz
- Jason Krejza
- Michael Beer

Case in point, this is why our spinning stocks are so crap and today we go back to Lyon who got belted for 7 runs an over in the first ODI against the might of the Zimbots

Doherty has done a fine job for us in the past, surely he will get the gig for the World Cup. This was a good opportunity to see what Lyon has to offer in the one day format.

I'm thinking Australia's WC plan revolves around BigShow as the spin option with the attack being made up of pace men. There will be a spinner in the squad but he might not see much game time.
