I reckon all the former eels couldve been worth keeping, except Hollingsworth he wasnt that good of a hooker.

I wish we kept Heckenberg and Dunley. Dunley was our best player of 2003, reminded me of Brad Drews form in 2001. Heckenberg did well in the second half of the season. I cant understand why they let him go for Stapleton or even Moi Moi.

I think it all came down to money - Stapleton and especially Moi Moi were a hell of a lot cheaper than Hex. Given that Cayless and Vella are up for contract renewal soon its not a bad move personally.

Chan was always Injured.
No Offense i know Heckenberg still has lots of fans at the Eels but i never saw anything in him...I dunno maybe it was just me i suppose but i would still take Stapleton and Peek ahead of Chan and Heckenberg.

Shayne Dunley and Scott Donald were our big losses...The rest playing for Manly i don't reall care about.

I'll second that Lyon, my thoughts exactly. It would have been nice to have been able to read into the future and let Patty Richards go a year earlier and kept Scotty D but thats life I guess. Everyone was expecting Patty to come good though, it just didn't happen. Dunley is one of the most damaging & explosive dummy half runners in the game. He can blow a game wide open coming on from the bench. Really wish we kept him because I don't think we have that sort of player in our squad this year.
