Neser in for one of the fast bowlers, probably Hazelwood although Cummins looks like he needs a spell. Starc may have a shoulder injury.

Green out, Murphy in. Marsh is not the long term answer but Green is way out of form.

They won't drop Warner.

Nor should they as he's still in top 2 openers in Australia........that's just how it is

yes - Neser in for Starc assuming he is carrying an injury - otherwise would be Cummins who needs to be rotated
If Neser can't get a start in this game he never will

Neser deserves a run as does Murphy. Needs to actually be given some overs this time.

We have a WC to prepare for and time off is limited. I don't see the need to play Cummins. As captain he will probably keep his place but we've already beaten England.

The bowling coach is the one who needs to be shafted, he's the one that calls the shots on how we bowl.

Craig McDermett was the best I can remember and seemed to have a very good influence on our bowlers.

Is Vettori the bowling coach or the spin bowling coach? I remember we had both for a long time

Smith's last test in England would make sense. Last test ever? That would be a surprise.
Khawaja also getting close to retirement age, so we've got some gaps to fill real soon.
was looking at the scorecards for the 2015 ashes series and was surprised at how many players still featured for both teams - particularly the bowlers

for australia - Warner, Smith, M. Marsh, Starc, Lyon and Hazlewood
for england - Bairstow, Stokes, Wood, Ali, Broad and Anderson

Will definitely be new look sides in 2027

Be shocked if Maxie Bryant doesn't get player of the series tbh.
Feathers Morris won't be far behind. 5-0 sweep for sure.

Nathan lyon still playing isn't he 36 already.

@hineyrulz in 2027 if Lyon is still playing as our spinner and BA is still coach of parramatta how are you going to cope.

Hit the rewind button back another two years earlier to 2013, and look at who featured in the Ashes series for both sides 10 years ago (that has played in this current 2023 Ashes):

AUSTRALIA: Warner, Khawaja, Smith, Starc, Lyon
ENGLAND: Woakes, Root, Bairstow, Broad, Anderson

Broad and Anderson are the only surviving members from the previous UK Ashes series in 2009 (hard to believe 14 years have gone so quickly!)

So, since 1981 - when Ashes tours to the UK began to be held in 4 year intervals, with the exception of the 2 year interval between 2013-15 which was caused by scheduling issues - Warner/Smith/Starc/Lyon join Ponting/Steve Waugh/Border/Warne/Clarke as the only Australians who've played tests in 4 Ashes tours.
