Was listening to Henry Lawson on Grandstand yesterday just as Warner got out, instead of blasting him he said thats the difference between the Aussies and the Indians.

Warner got out "trying to hit the ball back to Sydney" in the 90s where as the Indians will work the singles to get to their milestones. It seems to be more important to them rather than the team score and Harsha Bogle was in the commentary with him and he made a similar comment but not as critical as Lawson.

I thought Henry was a bit harsh but a lot of people seem to agree with him.

Tendulkar was the best at it, the amount of times he slowed slowed in ODI's just to get his 100 only for India to lose the game was legendary. He was all about himself.

The difference is Sachin didn't have anyone to back him up, and India rarely were in winnable positions in those days.

The point does stand somewhat though, it was the like of Dravid, Ganguly, Sehwag, Laxman who actually pushed them over the line during the glory years.
