gotta laugh - 3-2 was a fair result for the series though - the likes of Taylor need to take a good look at themselves imo

that series was there to win, they did the hard work game one, then let it slip.

there should be some serious repercussions as a result..

Hopes 40 off 56 SR 71.43

Watson 53 off 79 SR 67.09

White 6 off 21 SR 28.57

Voges 5 off 17 SR 29.41

Sorry, but no.

Ummm look at the balls faced, off those only Watson faced more balls than Hopes and his job was to steady the ship after the wickets were falling around him. When Watson left the RRR was 6.08. 10 overs later Hopes is 13 off 33 balls SR 40, Hussey 39 off 44 balls RRR has suddenly gone out to 7.57. 40th over Hopes 20 off 40 balls RRR 8.36. So ummm who was the person involved in letting the run rate get out of hand again?

Disappointing - I think we're at least the equal of Aust in ODIs, and at full strength (Mills, Ryder and Oram notably) I am very confident we're a better ODI side. Can't recall the last time I could say that - Aust are decent, but only decent - certainly not anywhere near as good as some would lead you to believe (tests are, of course, another story - we are abysmal)

The selectors really should explain the Styris situation, it was beyond any logical explanation IMO.

While we're all fans of Taylor's, he has a lot of improving to do, and shouldn't be anywhere near captaining any side while he continues to play so stupidly at times...

At the time he made the comment, Hope's strike rate was around 50. Inevitably, he accelerated, but at the time aussie1st made the comment he hadn't. and probably should have. Though I wouldn't say he lost them the game as much as Haddin and White's failures, Clarke's absence and a couple of shocking umpiring decisions did. But moreover, Southee and Bond won it for the Black Caps

White would be a good bat if he knew how to pick up singles a lot better. I get the feeling he feels he can coast at 50 per cent strike rate and then bring out the 3 wood to win the game from well behind.

Yea White is average at the strike rotating as well. Lucky he has the ability to go crazy. He really should have a look at his knock against Pakistan as that was easily the best inning hes played. Plus hes definitely not a number 4 or 3 for that matter, his game just isn't suited to his aggressive style and him trying to do otherwise seems to hinder his game and our run rate.

Not to worry. A 3-2 result just makes it look like we had more of a contest. Would've been more interesting had this game been a decider rather than a dead rubber with the kiwis only playing for pride
