Last night kept going what I think is almost a unique record for a major sporting competition - the seventh straight season where there has been a different premiership winning team:

1999 - Storm
2000 - Broncos
2001 - Knights
2002 - Roosters
2003 - Panthers
2004 - Bulldogs
2005 - Tigers

10 out 15 clubs have played the Grand final since '98.
It's how the comp should be. At the start of next season supporters of all clubs have the right to feel they have a shot.

Newcastle 2006- the first team in Rugby League history to go from worst to first in one season.:)

After the period from 89-2001 was very out of Sydney dominated premiership wise with on 3 winners from Sydney it's nice to see Sydney teams slip back into domination. May it continue for a while yet.

It seems to be a particular dominance from Sydney's west- the only western team that hasn't won a Grand Final in the last 5 years is Parramatta- maybe if they could play season quality football all through the Finals series they could change that.

it's certainly fantastic for Rugby League, especialy when you consider that St.G/ILL will probably start favs next season to maybe go 8 years

And this is where idiotic AFL fans think they should stick in a second Sydney team because people love it out there

6 of the Top 8 could've continued it this year, so there's plenty of choices.

Also kept the no fifties conceded rule intact that people were scoffing about earlier in the season :p
