HAng on a minute! If the song goes like this:

Where are you now,
are you missing me tonight...

or is somebody holding you tight,
take a look around

Thats all I can remeber, but if thats the songs then yeah I do remember Roxus now! That could prove handy at a trivia night one day to know who that was!!!

I like it when bands can talk about it in good humour. I have heard a few interviews with people from those eras who have a good laugh at themselves. The only way to be!

I love 80's hair metal. Personally it's my favourite genre along with glam rock (newer glam rock like Spacehog and the like, kind of goes along with hair) and good ol' rock & roll.

Hair metal is great because the lyrics are so stupid, pointless, shallow and unmeaningful that it's never depressing and always great to dance to. I didn't mean that in a negative way.. it's just the truth. And I love it.

Ron, honestly, what sort band calls themselves 'Whitesnake'?

What sort of band writes lyrics like this?-
Love ain't no stranger,
I ain't no stranger
Love ain't no stranger,
I ain't no stranger to love

What sort of band names an album 'Slide It In'?

What sort of band looks like this? -

What sort of person takes such a band seriously and thinks they made legitimate music?
You.

And you reckon Tim Rogers is funny...........

Remember the Beatles wrote this

love love me do
you know i love you

Simplicity can still be talent, some hair bands use of catchy tunes is just plain brillant, they needed these songs exposed to gain popularity...more often then not the other songs on the album are brillant.

Their vocal work, guitar, drums etc is brillant and requires talent....any musician learning their pieces knows this.

As a guitarist i know whats complex and whats not

Whitesnake  complex
Van Halen  complex
You am i  shithouse

Beat me to it, Carcharias.

Ol' Timmy uses some outlandish chords and often strange tunings to go along with them. I remember nearly developing a brain tumor trying to get Berlin Chair right.

As a guitarist, you really should broaden your horizons a little. You should also probably know better.

I know, diversity is always good.

But if i was to change my style it would be to Country :? ...sounds weird i know...however the way country guitarists slow down bends and notes etc is quite talented and would benefit me greatly.

btw

Chord structures and down tuning are just an idiosynchresy of ones playing, it doesn't really mean anything, chords are basic to play solos take years to master.

chords are basic

I beg to differ .

To know everything about chords takes years and years .

FTR that song I showed the link to is in standard tuning with a capo on the 3rd to suit his vocal range.
16 different chords.

Hardley "wild thing" .

Fair enough, their is thousands of chords on the guitar, but all chords originate from the main chords, me personally i put my energy into lead, chords are just not my cup of tea, fast lead i just love...and good for showing off ;-)

well showing off is definitely part of Hair guitar.

I'm sure you will agree that T.Rogers must have some talent to be able to know and utilise all these different chords into his own songs.
http://www.youami.net/tabs/resources/tuningguide.txt

I've been playing for 18 years and I know a serious guitar player when I see one and T.Rogers is just that.

He may not get the old leg up on the foldback with his nuts hanging to one side of his spandex tights and hammer on like Stevie Vai but he knows his shit .

On the subject of Tim Rogers and Hair bands have you ever noticed how John Waite( was that his name?) from that band that sang "when I see you smile" looks like Tim Rogers with a wig on ( in that film clip),

Truly frightening song and clip to go with it.

Fair enough i guess, but as a front man i think he's utter tripe. Maybe he needs some spandex & hair spray just give him that little bit of you know what

John Waite #-o can't remember?? but men at work singer has some characteristcs me thinks.

I prefer Eddie V & Satriani though ;-)
