Some early news for Saturday.

Pasha is out of Swiss squad because of a back injury. Mist now be a doubt for Saturday. Gallas straight back in you would think.

Anelka also out of French squad with injury and is a doubt for Saturday. That would be a big loss for Bolton. Nobody to score them goals!

Yeah, I'm not that old. 96 I think it was I did that thing.

Traore... Much like when Clichy was coming through and I was always saying Coles days are numbered, the time is coming when Gael won't be no sure thing at left back...

Traore - I want to keep on improving here
By Matt Fortune

Armand Traore feels he has fully justified his decision not to move out on loan.

The French youngster, described by Arsenal captain William Gallas as having ‘monster potential’, continues to be a revelation at left-back. He has scored twice for the Reserves this term and put in an eye catching performance against Newcastle in the Carling Cup.

The 18-year-old excelled in his favoured position last season, starting every game of the Carling Cup run from the Fourth Round and playing in the FA Cup too. He was rewarded with a first-team squad number and travelled to Austria for the pre-season training camp.

The Frenchman was rumoured to be subject of a loan move in August but told Arsenal.com at the time that he wanted to stay at the Club and keep on improving. His position remains the same, but now he has his sights set higher than he had originally planned.

“I have spoken with the boss and he has told me that the position of official second-choice left-back is there for me,” he said. “That doesn’t mean it will be always though, so I must just keep trying hard in training and when I am asked to play there, just show that I can do it.

“I think I am going to stay at Arsenal and still try to keep improving every day in training. I wanted to do that rather than go on loan, but when I speak to the manager and if he tells me that it has to be done, then of course it will be done.”

Merida - It was an honour to join first team
By Matt Fortune

Missing a penalty in a major tournament final is the stuff of nightmares for any seasoned professional, let alone a teenager.

Spanish star Fran Merida unfortunately suffered such a fate at the recent Under-17s World Cup, a tournament where he was one of the stand-out talents. However he has responded by showing strength of character far beyond his years.

“In the last five months we were champions of Europe, and then second in the World Cup,” he told Arsenal.com. “It was a good result but I still have that thing inside me, after missing a penalty, but I am happy because the whole experience was invaluable.

“Playing against the top-level players from the other countries makes you learn lots more about your game. There were plenty of different things which can only help us develop as players.”

Less than three weeks after that night in Malaysia, a sold-out Emirates Stadium crowd witnessed the midfielder’s first competitive appearance in an Arsenal shirt during the 2-0 Carling Cup win against Newcastle.

“It was an excellent experience,” said Merida. “We see them [the first-team] play every week, and when you get to actually mix with them and have the possibility to come on, it’s an honour and you feel very happy.

“I came on just for two or three minutes but it is still an excellent feeling and I was so happy.”

The Spaniard hopes that his cameo appearance is not his only opportunity to play under Arsène Wenger.

“It’s good to always be thinking about it, and aiming for the Carling Cup squad. The boss likes to bring some of us boys through into the first team, and we must work hard in order to prove we are ready for that level.”

He's referring to going out on loan as opposed to leaving.

Yeah I know, the point I am making is that if I were him I'd rather stay around God (Wenger) and the first team as well as playing in the reserve league than going on loan to a Championship or League One/Two side

Bolton game on FS?

I didn't see it on the guide.

Also - I noticed that Sentana is now available for Fox. Would it be worth purcashing? I've seen some of what is available, looks very tempting. Heck I'd even watch Chelsea TV!
