there is a sense of depression or desperation or something that really did my head in. actually reminded me of the last half hour of the Castle Hill Tavern nightclub back in the day when everyone was desperate to pick up urghhh

in other news, its that time of the month and i am walking around about to burst into tears for no reason. BEING A GIRL IS AWESOME.

I've been out "clubbing" in country towns many times and its all pretty nasty stuff.

Usually, you wonder what the hell you are doing there the minute you walk in the door.

Its particularly bad when its just you and you walk into the local haunt only to get the once over from everyone else in the room, like "what the hell is this outsider doing here".

The worst was on a conference in Nelson Bay and the guest speaker, who I was taking care of, was a paralympic rower and member of the Australian blind cricket team, got harrased firstly by some Woman because he had his guide dog in the pub and secondly by some bloke in the toilets who was standing next to him at the trough and realised he was blind. Started making comments and passing his hand in front of the guys eyes while he was trying to have a pee.

oh dear. thats awful!! i think thats just jerks more than country people tho? god knows we have jerks in the city. so many.

yeh when i said desperate people im not talking anything to do with footy, at the Down Under on Weds nite it was just locals. and yeh we got the who the hell are you and what are you doing here when we walked in too. and all these girls shooting us greasies and i was just thinking IM NOT EVEN HOT, WHAT ARE U WORRIED ABOUT.

its all very....territorial or something? weird. never experienced anything like it before.

Down Under was the noted place for the older single ladies to pick up. Back when I was 17 or 18 I was approached about 30 min before closing by a older lady asking did I want to dance, I said I cant dance, then she said well how about we go back to my place and ill f@#k you, I said I had no condoms, she pulled one out. I said I had to go to the toilet and would be back in a minute, I grabbed my mate and bolted, hahaha. If I was older I might have gone. I dont think things have changed much since then there.

Port is pretty good dealing with league players from what I have seen. We seem to get a trial up there every 2nd year so always had the players out and I never saw any trouble. I remember John Cartwright asking me for my socks 10 + years back so he could get into Altitude.

You have to be smashed to go in there. What was even worse the same people who were there from 10 yrs back were still there a few weeks ago when I went in. Glad I got out when I was younger, although I will head back one day.
