Back to the game....A little banter is fine, but this is where problems begin and ultimately escalate if its not kept in check.

Having said that, what measures are the club taking with extra security?

I'm pretty sure that there'll be a crap load of riot police present. This game should have raised a red flag with the police at the time of the Cronulla riots, and hopefully they've made the appropriate preparations for it.

The club will have been in touch with the police and Telstra security.

Yeah, you would think so.....but was just interested to know if anyone had any official word yet seeing how the Dogs have nothing on their website.

Why should it be made public knowledge? Advertising the fact will only serve to fuel the fire. There have been riot police at every home game, but the quanitity will increase this weekend considering the circumstances.

I don't think the riots at Cronulla would have been anywhere near what they were if there wasn't so much publicity surrounding it before hand. Publicising it just places the idea in more people's heads. I hope the media is responsible in the lead up, and doesn't try to build it up.

To make people feel better and more comfortable about going to the game.

Isnt it sad when you need riot police at every home game....I feel for you decent Doggy fans.

In the instance of this game, I'm not expecting a big crowd at all. The damage is well and truly done due to December's riots, and people will stay away as a result. It's disappointing. And no, I don't think publicising police presence will be of any help to crowd figures, only make them feel more incriminated.

I'll be there with bells on as usual, even though I'll be hungover from my birthday party. I encourage everyone to come and not to fear any uprising, but I'm not holding out hope for a crowd of anything over 10,000 tbh.

The CSSC (Cron Suth Supporters Club) has organised a bus of 40-50 sharks fans to head out there.
Some of our members acting as individuals were in the Telegraph on Sunday with some bulldogs fans and there is a follow up in the local Leader paper this Thursday.

Having spoke to some Bulldogs supporters we know they want an incident free day promoting harmony so lets hope we can get that.

Had to laugh as well. PL is being played early and a police rep match is being played before the main game. Im sure the police presence will be good enough.

Should be a cracker game despite both sides being understrength and good luck to you guys.

at the begining of the year, this game was meant to be a sharks home game.

they obviously changed it for security reasons. never the less, should be a good game, fugg all the trouble makers (from both sides that is).

i have mates who follow the dogs, we'll be going together, anyone trying to start sh*t from either side, will get bitch slapped.

bring it on bulldogs, your team aint got sh*t!!!!

fugg elmazri, thommo's a better goal kicker.
100% (1/1)

Why's that? Did you see the other thread? While we're missing our Origin reps, keep in mind we have Tonga and Sherwin back on deck, Patten, El Masri, Utai, Williams, Asotasi, Maitua and Grimaldi still playing, and our new players are starting to fit in... I think we'll crap all over the shire boys ;-)

The Bulldogs have played maybe 2 good halves of football all year. Half the time we've won just because Mason has come to the party when we needed him.

The Sharks have been consistent for the past few weeks and look to be much more cohesive than the dogs at the moment.

How are we going to win without half our forward pack?

Here's hoping Asotasi can step up to the plate like he did so many times for us last year, and the fleet footed tonga can carve up out wide. We've got the talent I know, but will we have the form on the field on Sunday?

Well at least SBW will get out of the centres and get some football in his hands. Tonga is scary in defence, he and utai will be targeted as usual and they will both cost us tries, especially tongas missed tackles.

Dogs have not been consistant this year!!! but Folks says they are improving in training and i guess three wins in a row is a good sign!!!!

Oh, I was under the impression it was the other way around. Police play at 10:50am, Bill Harrigan refereeing, because he has to head across and plonk himself in Aussie Stadium's video ref chair for Syd v Sou at 3:00pm.

If I'm wrong, I stand corrected ;-)

it was? because when the riots were happening some knew that it would some how be linked to the dogs and the draw said that it was at homebush...

meh could be wrong...

The draw was announced before the riots. The decision on the location of the game had absolutely zero input from the result of the riots. Don't play the 'hard done by' card.

Bulldogs to win!

first of all id like to say best of luck and i sure hope ur all pumped for a definately amazing game. shame it wasnt on friday night. regardless of injuries to both our teams im sure the boys will be at their best.

i know a couple of acts between the two areas have made us seem to be rivals but i hope we can put it behind us and kickback together and scream our lungs out for the love of the game.

i am from bankstown, i am lebanese and a shark. proud to be part of all three mentioned. i just hope they wont be all shattered this weekend. cause even though we are from different clubs we are always united as one in this country.

thanks fellas.

Good post mate, best of luck to you - ironically enough, I am a white Australian, live in the Shire and support the Dogs!

P.S. The Dogs only true home ground is at Belmore... Homebush is a neutral venue IMHO!

Just quietly I'd watch Maitua. Had a brilliant game last week.

Will be interesting to see how Sherwin goes this week. He should be keen to impress, but then he should've been at the beginning of the season and played crap. Will be a good game no matter what (unless we get pumped of course!)
