Cannings hits hard, but not like a Hitman.

Tsoulos was putting on some big hits earlier this year before he got injured, as was Vella.

But I really think we need some young guy who constantly does it - Moi Moi, Backo and Mateo, not to mention Cannings and Tsoulos, are my nominations.

'Mentary,

I agree with you again....any forward in the comp should be able to put a big hit on. Our problem was that Vella, as an example, only did it twice..maybe three times this year that I can remember.....Fui had his 15 minutes of fame against Manly at Brooky and then we hardly saw him again (mainly due to injury though). I'm sure any opposition forward would not be quaking in their boots if they saw Vella in front of them when they carted up the pill.

Fui, if fitter, and Jack can certainly fill that void. Had we held on to Jackie Chan for a bit longer then maybe it could have been him but you can't do much by sitting on the sidelines with broken arms.

Stapes certainly had agression but he was more of a toiler that if riled would react...he's not an intimidator..neither was Corey and that was our biggest problem....NO ONE feared our pack.

That's the appeal of Adrian Morley and Ruben Wiki...Tonie Carroll makes players think twice about running towards him....Sonny-Bill looks like he could fall into the trap of putting on a big hit too much too often but at the moment they are effective and his hype alone is making attackers think twice on his side of the ruck.

It would certainly add a great dimension to our pack to have someone
who could just belt blokes within the rules.

Perfectly said. We have 3 backrowers capable of 80 mins now we need a big hitter off the bench. A few players can fill that void.

yeah except that almost every shoulder charge and therefore tackle that Fui attempts - he misses - unlike Sonny-Bill

however, he does still have some potential to be a beast

and anyway i am still excited about Josh davis - he could be the goods

Imagine that
3 - Davis
4 - Tahu
Ive only heard good things about him but he could well be our starting centre for round 1 next year. Smith will give him a run in the trials and who knows what could happen.

sometimes i wonder if anyone has ever coached Fui about football or have they just said....here take this round thing and run real hard?????

and all reports i have seen of Davis suggest he could be the sort of hard-running, tryscoring centre we desperately need after someone elft one day to be lost in the lignum out west chasing pigs???

yeah and i heard some interesting stuff about the biggest pig chaser of them just recently too

made me change my mind a bit about him actually, as i did stick up for him originally, but by the sounds of it, we might be better off without him in the long-run

and i am wondering if St Helens are starting to get a bit worried???? and if they are not, maybe they should be???

In terms of Moi Moi, I'd now consider him gone until I hear otherwise. Two contracts at once mean you aren't the smartest cookie in the tin. And he wasn't featuring in my top 12 forwards at the club for next year anyway.

Josh Davis? Unproved. But after losing two internationals, we need someone to step up and play better than expected in the centres next year.

And as for Jamie, he'll guarantee St Helens money through the gate, as a big name signing and making up for the loss of their previous name centre Martin Gleeson to Warrington for next year.

I think I know what Smith is doing. I think Burt will be in the centres pairing with Tahu. I thought Burt in the centres either did really well or did horribly bad. I think Graham would be a heaps better alternative or Davis midway throughout the season if he deems worthy. But from what I hear he might even start 1st grade immediatly, another O'Dwyer.
