Nothing earth shattering, but I did say I would let you guys know whenever there was new news.

I'd say that the comments there were pretty earth shattering. You are planning online play in the sequel? Blimey that's ambitious, is that just for PC and X-Box or does it take in PS2?

Franchise mode is a great idea as its very hard to win things if you support a duff team.

Hopefully they do it across all platforms, so as to not isolate any userbase. Online gaming is the best experience, as there are continually different users all the time. A online competition mode between friends/clans would be great!

i reckon for the benefit of future online gaming

some Tech company comes out with a compatible online format.
So Sony/Microsoft outsource their online capabilites, that way they can consentrate on making consoles better, and leave the online stuff to some other mob to take care of for the users.
So consoles and pc's with the same game like NRL, can all play against eachother regardless which system they have the game on in their living room.
It would merge all online gamers into one mass competition, and one mass market.
This way we arent subject to playing people with the same console.
Remember only for games that are available on more than 1 system, like NRL, Tiger Woods, Madden etc.
It's got to be the best way to go for the future, and in a few years, i hope this happens

I think that would be great for the consumer, but I can't see the console manufacturers going for it. Connectivity with other platforms is not allowed under their current policies, and I can't see that changing for the next generation.

hopefully then sony/microsoft etc realise the benefit for the industry it would do and review there current policies, reform them, to suit the need for us as gamers and themselves as providers.

I reckon the online we have now.....being in its first year, needs more experiement, testing and research before any drastic changes (like I mentioned above) will be introduced.

You cant bring out a Technology and revamp it totally from A-Z before u have bearly even figured whats from A-B.

But in the end of the whole online saga, I hope we go that way.
Having 1mass online hub across many consoles and systems, creates increased online competetion within gamers, and creates a new tier to the gaming market, which is ever increasingly growing day by day.

Sony and Microsoft should combine and make the best console ever!!!!!!!!

Maybe. But then competition will be less, so they won't be improving as much.
