Can someone please post a message defending Brian Smith, Ashley Graham, etc.? It's been a bad day and I need a laugh.
I'll accept that it's not a great idea to change the coach mid-season... as long as someone can give me a reason to keep him.
The positive view:
We could improve. Actually, we might win the comp... yeah, I think we'll probably go through the rest of the season undefeated. We'll be so pissed off about the Brisbane game that nothing will be able to stop us.
I also think that "Ash" will represent for sure. He had an injury. The rest of the team should suffer while he tries to find his feet in first grade. It's the nice thing to do. After all, he had an injury. Did I mention that he had an injury... oh I did? Oh well, he did and it's going to take some time to find his feet. The poor guy had an injury I tells ya!
Other teams have problems too you know. Brisbane were smashed last week. Yeah I know they've put in some pretty awesome performances too, but we'll keep that between you and I shall we. And Newcastle... my god, they look terrible, so does their line-up, but shhh.
I also like to insert sharp objects into my eyeballs.
The negative view:
Brian Smith has had 3 years to turn things around and we seem to be going down-hill despite recruiting better than any other club. There must be something wrong with the mentality within the club. Something is drastically wrong, how could anyone say different? No other team would accept results like this. If we change the coach and things don't improve, then what have we lost? At least we've actually tried to do something about club's situation. Instead, the club sits on it's hands and says that Brian Smith is the man to lead them, yet there doesn't seem to be any evidence to support that point of view. There is however, ample evidence to say otherwise. The players change, yet the results stay the same... where do you look next? I know where I'd look.
If a cat has 9 lives, how many do Smith, Burt and Graham have?
I hope the team makes me look like a fool for writing this. But the thing about being a negative Parramatta supporter is that you're constantly proven right. I and many other Parramatta supporters are sick of being right all the time.
And to all the super positive supporters who'll say they've heard it all before a million times. Well, yeah, you probably have, but maybe that that make you think about what's been going on for the past few years. You've heard it a million time because the same thing seems to have happened a million times, or is that a million and one?
