A home semifinal?

I got a letter from the club today advising that you can book your seat on 8-9 September for a home semi final if you are a Raiders 2003 member. This is a great innovation. Last time we had a home semi, but gave the seats we had all year away to blow ins from Sydney or corporate sponsors! Congratulations to management on this!

It was interesting that the letter only entertained us finishing 3rd (meaning the game will be on the Saturday 13 Sept), 4th (Friday 12 September), or 5th or below (no home semi). What about finishing 2nd or with the minor premiership!!!!????

So where do we think we WILL finish?

I'm thinking we will go second. I'm very confident we will win the last two games, but the roosters should win this week, and i believe they will end up with a better points difference. As for the panthers, I just can't see them finishing in the top two, even at this stage of the season.

I think we will finish fourth and win at least one of two remaining games. If the Roosters beat the Warriors, we can't win the minor premiership and if the Panthers beat Manly and Parra, we will finish outside the top two and if we beat the Bulldogs and lose to the Roosters we will still finish fourth because the Bulldogs play the Sharks in the last round.

Fourth is fine by me anyway. We will get a home semi and another crack at the Storm and I think there is a very real possibility that teams one and two will lose in the first week of the finals. Team two will more than likely be the Roosters and will have to face the Broncos which will be no easy task considering they will have Tallis back while the Panthers will have to face either the Dragons, Eels or Knights and i'm still not convinced the Panthers can defend well enough to win the comp. I think the Bulldogs and Raiders will progress to the grand final qaulifiers while the Warriors and Storm will be the first two sides eliminated.
