Jets-Fury game postponed due to state of ground

The Newcastle Jets home game against North Queensland Fury tomorrow night has been postponed because of the poor state of the surface at EnergyAustralia Stadium. FFA officials inspected the ground at 5.15 this afternoon after being alerted to significant damage caused to the playing surface following a Super X event on October 16.
A decision on Sundays home match against Melbourne Heart is expected to be made tomorrow.
The need for player safety and player welfare is paramount and a decision was made that the ground was not acceptable for competitive football,'' A-League boss Lyle Gorman said.
The FFA, Jets and FOX Sports are examining alternatives for both matches.
