A question, re Jamie Lyon...

Ok, I know this topic has been done to death, and I apologise for creating yet another thread, but I had a thought strike me the other day. Seeing as Jamie Lyon is still contracted to Parramatta (even though he is also contracted to St Helens), would that mean that should Parramatta give him a ring and say "Jamie, old mate, we need your help, come over and play for us next week," that this would override his contract at St Helens? And allow him to play for us instead should he choose to? I know it would never happen, it's just something I thought of out of the blue the other day.

Yeah I've heard this one talked about before. I think it's all about salary cap. If he was to come here now then the club would have to pay him his entire contract remaining for the year, which could be around the 200k mark. This would almost certainly push the club over the cap.

I have a feeling that we wouldn't be allowed to that... it's just that we've had a condition in his St Helens contract that he cannot negotiate with other clubs until June 30 this year

No need to have him here this year.

They're gorn the EELS.

It would probably take the players a month to get super fit and by then, Souths would've already over taken us on the ladder

Far from it. We'll still make the 8, on the condition we can get another forward to complement Fui and make some yards.
