A View From The Hill: Axed

According to its Facebook group, A View From The Hill on 2SER will be broadcasting its final show this Saturday from 11am-midday.

The show always gave Newtown a good run (thanks Stu! ) and it provided an alternative voice in RL media. Like it or not, it will be a considerable loss if they don't get a gig with another station.

If you can string two sentences together and want to voice your complaints you can ring 02 9514 9514 during office hours or you can head to http://www.2ser.com and click the contact us button

While it was good to hear them give the Jets a go, I was only a very occassional listener the host was dull, talked over people and was only interested in his own point of view. If want that then I will listen to 2GB.
I doubt that anyone will miss it too much as it did not have a great listening audience and you are only talking to the converted who did listen.

I used to listen every Saturday on the way to the jets games etc. Was a top little show.

Have moved too far away from there now so unfortunately could no longer get it.

Outsiders judgement of the show is a little harsh IMO to say the least. I find the sentence about " Only being interested in his own point of view " amusing though, especially coming from you pal.

Some of your comments are precisely the reason I wouldn't tune in as religiously as I may have.

As for its audience, I understand it was one of the best rating community radio shows. In any case, it may not have been the biggest but it's community radio. They're not there for the ratings. They're there to provide an alternative and they did. Without them, we're left with a narrower point of view.

I was never interested in " their " point of view myself, so much.

It was just good to findout some interesting goss and tidbits about the premier league etc for me. As you would generally otherwise struggle to even get a score update on most other radio channels etc, let alone coversations etc about the comp ya follow.

Shame it's going.

Hopefully it'll get picked up by another station, however it did become a little dull after a while as the main presenter had his point of view and kept reminding us of it over and over again.
Still, anything that gave other rugby league comps a go was always a good thing and will be missed.

Very sad to see it go. This was the only radio program I really tried to catch each week.
I particularly enjoyed the updates of what was going on in premier league and the Jim Beam cup, and hope that another option becomes available for the guys somewhere else on the air. If someone covers the secondary comps (Premier, Jim Beam, Qld Cup, ACT footy etc) then I'll listen in each week for sure - much more interested than NRL.
I guess Rugby League Review and Rugby League news will have to do the job for now.
Thanks Rob, Stu and all.

Thanks Rob, Stu & Co for promoting the second tier competitions and giving Clubs like Newtown and Norths the accolades they richly deserve!

Jeffles, perhaps the commentators would best be served if they could muster two sentences together! that Stu guy reminds me of my sons favorite animated mouse, Stuart Little, with that squeaky little voice. I think the writing was on the wall though, when one announcer would skip straight by the sock section at LOWES
