A year in review

Yes, we can talk the positives..
4 points out of a minor premiership.
The emergence of Dufty, Lomax, Lawrie as genuine first grade footballers.
If at the start of the year you had offered me a major semi spot I would have taken that.

But now the negatives.
The mistake from LAM I will never forgive.
If anyone ever talks up Kurt Mann as a playmaker again I will have issues.
It is, again, a season that offered so much promise, and again delivered nothing.

So while finals are good, it's not what we want.

So, I will not be around for the off season, seriously what's the point?
Goodbye and good luck.
A Roosters/ Storm grand final is my worst nightmare, so will not watch it.

I think Jordan P had a great game tonight. He now owns his spot.
Lomax should be our choice in the centers
Blake Lawrie is going to be very good next year.
Injuries had a big impact on our finals campaign. If we had Vaughan and Widdop on deck we would have won tonight.
I feel that next year will be better then this year
Proud of the boys tonight. But it wasn’t meant to be.
I hope McIdiot has learnt from this year. He needs to improve his player management

And one last edited post from the biggest c**k here.
I will not miss you Dickhead.
Eh?

Nothing edited there mate. They’re your words in the quote.

Sorry you’re upset. Hopefully a summer of cricket will see you return in a happier mood.

I will never be angry about a loss or mistakes when the effort is there. This team has played their guts out the last two weeks, I can forgive a 5th tackle misplay when they busted themselves for so long
Playing busted is the fault of one smug, bald individual.

tonights game summed up our whole 2018....SO close yet So far

Bring on 2019 with Bennett as coach, you will see Lomax, Dufty, Field, Lawrie, Luch, Robson all become superstars!

Hopefully if Benny comes we will have

Dufty
Oates
Jimmy Jet
Lomax
Nene/Periera
Widdop
Hunt as a backline

with hopefully Pangai JNr added to the forwards///

I prey to the footy Gods I am correct

Look forward to hearing from you next year BGB.
Chin up.
Mary might lose his voice in the off season and have to resign.
Or he might decide to go back to painting walls.
Anyway, cheers mate

Well, Muzby isn’t known as the Village Idiot for no good reason. This dilettante needs to hone his understanding (amongst other things) the definition of “mechanics” during the off-season.

We have much in common, BGB.

Mann unfortunately, was poor but they all tried.
All up, it was a very gutsy effort but.....

Mary stated all year, “We are a top four team .”

So based on his comments alone, he FAILED!
Nothing more to say.

If my team aren’t playing, l don’t really give a toss about nrl or the other games.

I despise Melbourne.
I hate the Rorters.
I loathe the Narks,
and l couldn’t give a rats arrse about Souths.

All the best to you all.

We were in the top 4 most of the year. We made 2nd week of the finals instead of taking all of September off like most years.

This is what we ask for as fans, to stay engaged for pretty much all of the season.

Imagine being an Eels or Cows fan who would have nodded off back in May?

It’s been a good year, and yes it’s good enough such that Mary at the very least sees out his contract.

If you just want to finish top 8 or there about then Mc Gregor is your man.
If you want to finish top 4 let alone top 2 or heaven forbid win a comp then a new coach is definitely required
Mc Gregor has done enough for the BOD to let the coaching contract to run its course and the interest next year will be IMO more about how the board go about coaching for 2020 and beyond.

we got the injuries at the wrong time of the season.

we had none for 2-3 months & led the comp.

we missed vaughan (almost our biggest lost)
& we missed widderp (not as much as hunt did)
demellon on needles
simcity busted.

with those all either fit or no the field last night, the game would never have reached that stage.

Injuries can occur at any stage.

However, the poor management of players all year was a contributing factor.

One person to blame for that.

At the start of the year I predicted Dragons would finish 12th based on (in my opinion) shit coaching, a bog average 5/8 and the worst backline in the comp. The team has done far far better than that. The coach must be doing something right, the 5/8 went OK with a decent half, and the backline scored a lot of tries.

I'm more positive about the future. Graham and Sims demonstrated the ruthless streak that all good forward packs need. The backs look better with Pereira and Lomax. I've no doubt the coach has learnt that he must rest players after origin. And the team were reminded in no uncertain terms of how passionate their fans are, and what they expect.
