...well they did win the T20, but thats a glorified slogfest, comparable to the home run derby they have in MLB

Victorians have too many players in the Aussie team. They have 2, which is appalling. NSW only have 5 which is very, very worrying.

So he doesn't average over 40 with the bat and under 30 with the ball in FC cricket. How is he an all rounder then???? Poor mans Simon O'Donnell not good enough as a batsman or bowler.

AB Mac is a quality cricket who will hopefully do the job for Australia. 10- 15 overs of decent mediums and some patient batting at 6 is all we need and I think this guy can produce it ofr us..

McDonald has had a pretty good past couple of years. Lets just give him a chance before we all crucify him. I'm sure he will go out and give 100% for Australia, and if that isn't good enough then he will go back to playing for the Vics.

Lets just support him for this test match...

In recent times he is averaging near 50 with the bat and just 24 with the ball

I'll suport anyone in a baggy greeen, and if he fails its not him I'll be gunning for, its the selectors and their ridiculous obsession with all rounders

I'm sure he'll be out there giving his best

and another point

it wont matter how well he does

5 wickets and 100 runs and as soon as Roy is fit, they'll slot him straight back in

As Twiz said i'm just pissed at the selectors, i hope the guy does well. We all want the Aussies to win we are playing the Saffa's FFS. But the selectors really have a lot to answer for.

Not totally sure about that

If he does real well in this test (and continues to do well this year in sheffield shield cricket) then Id say he will be on a flight to SA as the no1 allrounder for the test series there.

Roy is out for a few weeks, knee athroscopy. Be hard pressed for him to tour SA I would have thought, might only have the odi series vs kiwis to prove himself and you would think would have to play out of his skin. Then again im not a selector.

from what I have read is is not really an ODI player, he bats a bit slow

we'll get to see him soon enough, but with Punters manlub, I'm sure Roy is a shoe in to return

I think Roy is seriously close to entering test cricket oblivion. I know someone high up loves him for no good reason, but you can only carry passengers for so long when your not doing that well.

Don't think he'll do much. Shaun Young mark II.

Would've preferred Hopes.
