Yeah should be a good interesting game. It's worth noting that there are twelve 16yo's in those squads. Sam Burgess from Bradford is eligible but he is already playing SL and Steve Tyrer would be an obvious selection but they know what he can do.

So the player from each side to keep an eye on would be Mike Cooper (Lancashire) and James Archibald (Yorkshire)

Of the younger players Joe Westerman a tall rangy lock from Castleford looks a great talent.

Australian Schoolboys are touring too.
Is that in November, post season?

I'm not going to get the chance today Jason - shame as this type of stuff needs more support and exposure in my opinion.

Thanks EH, close game with a great comeback.

I think the England u/17's are playing the AIS and the Eng Academy u/18 play the Aust Schoolboys. So far 2 of the Aussie team have played NRL and same with the Academy so it should be another interesting series.

A startling second half revival from Lancashire saw
them steal the result from under Yorkshire’s noses at
the Grattan Stadium on Sunday, after the home County
had looked seemingly comfortable with a 16-0 interval
lead. But back came Lancashire, Salford City Reds
stand-off Jordan Turner emerging as the hero on the
hour with the second of his two tries – Scott Yates’
conversion edging the Red Rose ahead for the only time
in what turned out to be a very engaging contest.

Yorkshire had started well, Danny Allen crashing in
for a try inside the opening minute after a fine piece
of work from Richard Owen, put away by Gareth Moore’s
smart pass. The conversion from Joe Westerman was
good, and the lead was extended through Liam Welham,
who chased a speculative kick to the corner to get the
vital touch.

Ros sdivorty had been running some excellent lines,
and his burst resulted in Yorkshire’s third try, to
Danny Houghton, the eventual man of th match, who used
pace and strength to go over, Westerman converting.
Lancashire’s token score of the opening half came
through Lee Mossop, who went in after Matty Blythe had
intercepted a wayward pass, Scott Yates converting –
but the visiting County had looked a little off the
pace, there being little surprise when Westerman
reclaimed those points with a try on the break which
he converted himself - making Lancashire’s second half
performance all the more remarkable.

It came off the back of some determined forward play
which set up Turner for his first try after nine
minutes of the second period, Yates slamming over the
extras from a wide angle. Immediately they returned
onto the attack, all four substitutes being involved
in the move finished by Yates, the same player gaoling
from close in; then Turner used his pace and strength
to finish well in the left corner and Yates again
added the goal.

Yorkshire threw everything into the attack in the
final quarter, and looked to have manufactured the
chance to win the game when moore slipped through with
Welham in support, but the Leed s halfback delayed his
pass and when it left his hands it was forward. So the
home County’s final chance had gone, but the game was
terrific entertainment, and much appreciated by the
gathering crowds in perfect conditions.

The under 17s have played the AIS in the past. I'd imagine that would remain the same. The u18s play the schoolboys. Basically the AIS squad is the best players from outside Brisbane and Sydney so as you will see country kids that are really good will not only make the AIS squad but also the Schoolboys side.
The Schoolboys leave Australia in the first or second week of November I think. Don't know about the AIS, but as you can see there are a handful of kids in both.

I get it emailed to me each monday by Chris Park the RFL Academy Officer. I'm sure he won't mind you using it.

Yeah ECT, last years AIS team was awesome, probably almost as strong as the Aussie Schoolboys because the pack was basically the same with Dave Taylor, Mitch Aubersson, Joel Moon, Nathan Strudwick and Martin Lewis. They also has young Payne at halfback and Israel Folau in the centres with Alex Tallon.

Cheers mate, I'll get in touch as the Academy stuff doesn't seem to get much of a run even on their own website... (or maybe I'm just blind!).
