Reynolds or Hastings are only real options, apart from dark horse idea of Kurt Mann? We better get a move on here Hastings is on the outer so would be the most likely option?

Wouldn't it be nice if we could actually pick up a player who wasn't unwated
Why on earth would Widdop move back to the UK when he has lived here since he was a child?

He may pursue a a stint in the Super League towards the end of his career but let's be clear that Australia is his home.

Because based on his form/ability/heart/size/speed/ball-playing no NRL club will want him.

Hastings V Watson
Both the same age
1 is playing first grade as a 5/8 the other is now playing U20's.
1 is being "let go" the others contract ends 2017.

Pretty clear why we shouldn't even be looking at 1 but chasing hard on the other.

Widdops contract ends in 2017. If say Mann is given a go in 2017 as a half and does a good job, Widdop may also have had enough by then and move back to the UK.
A future halves pairing of say Mann and Watson would be very exciting IMO

I can see what you are saying, but where a player is playing doesnt always reflect the calibre of the player but more so their relationship with the coach. For instance Fusitua and Ayshford are in 1st grade this week and Lolohea is playing reggies. Out of the 3 I know who I would prefer to sign.

Love how Mann is assumed to be our halves answer the same as he was our new ball playing fullback. Centre yes, 5/8 ???? Lets sacrifice him as we did when we threw him into fullback. A proper half please if we can.

and if we can't???

Would it be possible for the Dragons to bring in a specialist half-back coach over the off-season to help train the players who could fill the roll ?
Hutchinson , Mann , Duffy and some from the Holden Cup squad .

Andrew Johns , Brett Kimorley are 2 names that spring to mind . Sign either 1 for a short term period , 3 months say , and pump as much knowledge into them as possible .
Of course it would be far better to sign a 1st rate half-back , but the cupboard is looking bare to me , even at this stage .

Drew Hutchinson should be given his shot next year if we don't find anyone.

We would've known if he was the man for the job if the useless coach would've f**king played him the many times Benji was injured this year.

Maybe they can get Benji to become a halves coach. If he can pass his skill and make a youngster as good as he was when he started then I would be rapt. Benji in his prime was the best half in the world.

Thanks scoop ? Your f###ken kidding me. I merely pointed out a fact that Widdop came here at 16 years of age.If you don't like being corrected maybe you should check your facts before posting, instead of writing derogatory condescending remarks

Ok no need to make a scene. I'm not sure how you corrected me there? But whatever makes you feel good about yourself.
