Simply: NSW has been guilty of believing their own publicity department for a long long time. Look at Fittler's comments before Game 1. He felt comfortable. He didn't look comfortable at the Game 3 post game media conference. He was confused. He didn't know what went wrong or just what to do to fix it.

That's not a master coach. That's a guy who got lucky when Thurston, Slater, Smith, Cronk and Inglis left the Origin arena.
