Mad duck, the problem there is that we actually have some depth in the outside backs. Ideally I'd like to see Berrigan as a running 5/8 but he could also be a devastating hooker. Theres a lot of juggling that can be done there.

Theres two main options IMO:
1. Shaun Berrigan and Seymour in the halves, Barry Berrigan at hooker and Maguire and Tony fighting it out for our utility on the bench.
2. Maguire and Seymour in the halves, Shaun Berrigan at hooker and Tony as our utility off the bench.

I do not like Berro at hooker. He may be great running out of there, but his passing (and that is the most important thing for a hooker) just isn't up to scratch. With his service out of dummy-half, our forwards would have to constantly slow down to recieve the ball which would obviously lessen their momentum when they hit the defence.

1. Lockyer
2. Tate
3. Berrigan
4. De Vere
5. Irwin
6. Tony
7. Seymour

9. B.Berrigan or Ryan

That's how I'd line us up. I'm not a big fan of Tony at 5/8th, but it is obvious that we need some more creativity and attacking power in there and that is what he brings. If we were scoring plenty of tries already I certainly would go with McGuire or Berro at 5/8th, but as it is we need him.

However, I expect to see Berrigan partner Seymour in the halves, with Tony either on the wing or coming off the bench as an impact player.

Your kidding right? Tony at 5/8th and Irwin ahead of Kelly? I agree that Berrigan probably wouldn't be my first option at hooker, I like Barry Berrigan there as Michael Ryan has looked out of his depth the couple of times we've seen him there this season, he just takes poor options.
Kelly has been great for us this year and Tony will be great for impact off the bench. Just look at how the Warriors used him near the end of their campaign, imagine that week in week out for the Broncos and I think we won't be worrying about scoring tries.

I think Berrigan and Seymour have to partner each other in the halves next year. Kelly, Tate, Lockyer and DeVere all have to be in the starting backline. Minto takes poor options on defence and Frawely is solid but doesn't have that attacking flair that we're lacking. Going along your lines Maguire wouldn't be a bad option in the centres.

I quite like the look of this side:
1. Lockyer
2. DeVere
3. Tate
4. Maguire
5. Kelly
6. S Berrigan
7. Seymour
8. Webcke
9. B Berrigan
10. Civoniceva
11. Tallis
12. Parker
13. Carlaw

14. Tony

I don't rate Kelly. The thing is, he played just about as good as he is capable of doing this year, and yet it still wasn't all that good. He probably let more tries in down his side than he scored. His positional play isn't all that good, and on the days he has an off-night he is an absolute disaster.

Irwin on the other hand looked very good in his couple of games last season, played for the Junior Kangaroos, and is solid in defence and attack. Plus from the times I've seen him he has a very good understanding with Seymour about his kicking game.

Even if Kelly is better than Irwin right now (and personally I don't think so), given a bit of experience Irwin will grow into a better player. So I'm looking at the long-term.

I'll agree with you on this point.

The thing I like about Kelly is that he offers us a genuine speedster, something we really are lacking since losing Walker. I agree that he has some flaws in his defensive game but its been about a year since we've seen Irwin in first grade.

Every player is rumoured to be about to sign with the Broncos.

It gets abit boring after a while.

The next rumour will be is that we are about to re-sign Sam Backo & Greg Dowling.

now you know how our fans feel...between us and brisbane we would have 350 players each
