They're all tough - but like many I reckon people like Toovey were the toughest, should have been a jockey, by god he was hard.
Yeah true, I do recall a few moments back in the day where I was amazed by his durability. I think his blonde hair and backstreet boys look made him look soft. He actually looks WAY harder now than he did when was playing, he looks way harder now than when he was actually a hard merkin.

Brent Todd was tough, in that way that had little to do with the biff.

He held his own against all those legendary forwards like Roach and Sironen.

Olly Filipaina was tough too, he copped all that racist crap, week in, week out, when he didn't have much support.
Roach, Sironen, Geyer etc...some hard blokes back in the day. Those guys would be thinkin... 'what crusher tackle?' 'what HIA?' 'what shoulder charge' 'thats a dump tackle not a past the point of horizontal'.

Mark Broadhurst says hello

So does Mark Graham

Different era but you mentioned Tamati.

The Sorensons were tough lads too

But Morely didn't play against them, so he could say they were the toughest he played against.

Presume you didn't either, so therefore you couldn't differ from his opinion.

I wasn't, someone said toughest Kiwi's and mentioned Tamati - so in that era there were many 'tough' guys

As above, I said Morley has an opinion, and given what he did in the game it should be respected. And much as I think Kearney is a bad coach, he was a very fine second rower at club and international level

Very very good second rower

Very very very very awful coach

Morely's opinion is his opinion, I have no issue with it, just as a fan who watched that era there are others I'd pick
Yep, I like that.
