Sorry Guys... Work commitments have rendered me incapable of writing a lengthy preview piece this week :( Tips for this week will be the sides in bold with predicted margin added

FRIDAY APRIL 2 AEST

Melbourne vs Richmond (40)
MCG 7:40 PM AEST

SATURDAY APRIL 3 AEST
Collingwood (20) vs Western Bulldogs
MCG 2:10 PM AEST

Adelaide vs Brisbane Lions (11)
AAMI Stadium 2:10 PM ACST

Essendon vs St Kilda (39)
Telstra Dome 7:10 PM AEST

West Coast Eagles (14) vs Port Adelaide
Subiaco Oval 5:40 PM AWST

SUNDAY APRIL 4 AEST

Sydney Swans (19)vs Fremantle
S.C.G. 1:10 PM AEST

Carlton (16) vs Geelong
Optus Oval 2:10 PM AEST

Hawthorn (51) vs Kangaroos
MCG 2:10 PM AEST

Running with the Blues may surprise people, but their run-on side looks steady enough, and the Cats are missing a number of players including the experienced Riccardi & Graham. Both sides fought out a last gasp thriller at this venue last year, and I think the Blues can atone. Richmond would probably be my monty for the round, although I think Hawthorn can do some serious damage to the Kangaroos if they hit anything resembling top form.

In my tipping comp we have a side event where you have to tip a loser each round (different side each week). I'm gonna bite the bullet and run with Port this time around. Its gutsy, as Port were fab last week and have a H & A record that has been second to none over the past three years. Still, all sides struggle to beat the Eagles at the Fortress and Port did get hammered there last year.

Collingwood & Adelaide will both be watched with keen interest, and while I think the former can atone, I think the Lions may be able to grind it out in the City of Churches. I suspect that Sydney vs Freo may well be the game of the round, and while it wouldn't surprise to see the Dockers get up, I'll stick with the Swans at home on the strength of an extremely honourable defeat at the Gabbatoir last weekend.

I tipped the Tigers, and as I suspected earlier in the day, they're going well so far.

Well, I dare say this wins the "I wish I hadn't said that award" for this week, and indeed any round for the entire season.

No excuses to be offered... The Kangaroos crunched us and were too good across the park. The 29 point final margin was flattering to us, in all honesty.

Suffice to say that I've ased the Hawks out considerably on my hypothetical flag odds table, and I'm thinking that I may already be playing for pride after a mere two weeks of the tipping competition.

Anyhow, another fabulous weekend for the Kangaroos, Port, Brisbane & St Kilda.

The Saints would have been particularly chuffed to have nailed their old nemesis Essendon with a minimum of fuss. Even stood up more than admirably when the Bombers tried to resort to some standover tactics, which is a great sign for the club's faithful.

How good was it to hear the Ole Blues song again after a win. They played alright too. A big game this week against the Kangas though. They have looked very good the Kanga's and beaten solid opposition.

St Kilda look very good as do Brisbane. The Bulldogs have been consistent losing both games by 9 points after establishing 5 goal leads.

Sydney did enough yesterday to win.
