No extensive preview this week, but I thought I'd put this thread up anyway, as its always good to have a thread for discussing outcomes of the games from a particular round.

Just not good enough :p

Well done to the Hawks!!! Couldn't have beaten a more deserving mob! :) :)

Was very impressed with North last night. An important win. Played below their best and were challenged by a lesser team playing at their peak but managed to hold on to win. A very important win the long scheme of the season, those games are the ones that decide whether make or don't make the finals.

Nice to get a win on the board and to put an end to all the nonsense talk about Hawthorn going through the season winless.

I still feel the side overcooks the football, but there's little doubt that the side is preferring a more direct approach this year, and it was great to see Hodge and Croad routinely pumping the ball direct down the corridor from defence.

Both Mitchell and Crawford should be considered serious Brownlow fancies this season, injury permitting.

A lot of good signs, but the best was the way the team responded in the second quarter after several of the usual Brisbane hardman suspects tried to assert psychological superiority over a number of young Hawks as they were heading to the quarter time huddle.

On North... They must be pleased with the way their season is travelling, having only won a single quarter per match to date, but remaining unbeaten on the table. The thing that would cheer Laidley most, would surely be the side's capacity to prevail in continually tough circumstances.
Will be a difficult challenge for Hawthorn this weekend, but I look forward to a far better contest than the last time we met 8)

It's the Shinboner spirit. ;-)

What about Archer, turning back the clock. He's a top player and a good bloke.

As for next week. I'm looking foward to Nathan Thompson getting a win against his old club. :)

good to see the hawks win. It's just a pity my mob play them next week at the Gabba. Hope their losing streak continues atleast one more week. I heard it the first time they have lost 3 in a row with Matthews as coach.

Spot on there.

Archer has always been one of my most hated players purely because of the amount of times I have seen him nullify any chance of Richo running riot agaisnt the Roos.

Arch will go down as one of the top backmen of our time.

"Allegedly" is the appropriate word here. I hereby promise to NOT tip Fremantle away from Perth again this season!!!

I maintain that they're poorly coached (what were they smoking when they gave Connolly an extension preseason???!!) and lack heart and character away from their Subi comfot zone.

They're doing well, the Tigers, but tougher tests await. I would say that every side in the competition looks like a potential finalist when playing to the best of their ability against an opposition playing to the worst of its.

I've always suggested that Richmond are a million miles better with Richo firing and he has had a fab start to the year. Brown is also in Brownlow winning form, so hopefully for the Tigers they'll be able to sustain this for the year.

They had won 3 of their last 4 at the G until yesterday....

True, but this says more about the opposition they had.

Fremantle has won painfully few games outside of Perth in its entire history, and only 2 of these away wins have ever been achieved against opposition that has gone on to make the finals (Sydney in 1996 & Hawthorn in 2001).

I saw bits of the Kangaroos / Collingwood game on Friday night. A perfect example as to why Eddie McGuire should not call games their games...

I think it in the 2nd quarter, not sure, but it was after Rocca got injured.

Over a good 10 minute period, there were four commentators. Three of them were actually calling the game. When Eddie was on, all he did was ask anyone with an opinion how Rocca was.

It was f***ing annoying.

And Sydney... we need a bit more work before we can truly call ourselves a genuine force.

Hell no! Although I reckon Itsintheblood is worse then Tigerboyz! lol

Happy to say I go under meltiger everywhere lol

By the way, I am shocked and appalled at the lack of commentary from yourself over the team sitting stone cold last at the moment.

I know it gave you as big a chuckle as it did me ;-)
