AFLQ show on Briz 31, why no Rugby League?

Champs, Griffo, Marty and Blucher are back with their news and views on AFL in Queensland.

Join the panel as they discuss the latest local and national football games, including highlights of the AFLQ Match of the Round.

Watch 'The Final Siren' Monday nights at 7pm.

Why doesn't rugby league have a similiar show? Given the correct blend of personalities would a rugby league show based on the QRL work?

Briz 31 has a limited broadcast reach but shows could also be broadcast on the net.

Discuss.

Harness racing have two programs.

Harness Racing News and Views and World of Harness Racing.

I haven't seen any of these shows, I'm off to tune Briz31 into my tele and to see what is on offer.

Would be simple, plenty of volunteers, along the lines of the old "Rugby League Round-up" on ch.9 circa-1991.

Plenty of footage is available given all games must be videod these days. Imagine having the usual 2-3 hosts, a couple of ex-NRL high profile guys now playing QC, a coach or 2, a player profile, and Billy staring out the window at pigeons .... #-o

I vote Stewbum and Diehard as special guests to debate the Dolphins issue in episode 1.

if its anything like the community channel in auckland...if you come up with the idea for the show and and pay a small fee, you can get your show on tv.

i think the fee in auckland was $50 per show...but yeah it may be different with briz31

I think it would be fantastic.

Getting the right usual hosts would be the biggest problem.

If you nail that, it dosn't matter where you host it. In Mud's garage, in the back of a VW. It would be good television.

Judging by the picture of the AFLQ show, eclipsing their production values wouldn't be hard either.

I think all games would be taped. And even so you could send out crews to take additional footage.

You'd need clearance from the QRL as well.

Good call.

You could have a special feature of me wearing my Gold Coast Dolphins jersey to Dolphin Oval and have a timer down the bottom counting how long I live.

Yea that is how it works with Briz 31, although the fee is higher.

I have been watching that AFLQ show every now & then.

For anyone who says they have been converted to AFL I dare them to sit through the replays of the local AFL competition on Briz31 and say they are still a convert.

I know the camera work is not all that flash but the standard of the athletes on display is a very low. They are a hopeless bunch, an embarrassment.
Fights seem to break all over the place & the skills seem to be non-existant.

It is no wonder the AFL don't publicise this show. It is also no wonder that AFL experts agree that promising players avoid the Brisbane competition if they want a career in the AFL.

On another matter I heard the ABC Queenland Cup game will be repeated on the ABC's digital Channel at 11pm Thursdays.

The Qld Cup seems to be getting a bit of coverage on radio with 4BC doing live crosses to the grounds on a Saturday during the Sorts Saturday show.

Briz 31 could be a gig for Bertie Campbell I'm sure he'd love a chance to get on TV
