After a digital camera

Yeah, the fact that people like to rate a camera by megapixels is laughable.

If anything these new cameras with a gazillion megapixels are just a pain in the arse because of the file sizes they produce.

I've got a mate who took photos as the Olympics in 2000 with a 2.1 megapixel camera and has one blown up to about 1m across and it's clear as. These 18 and 20 meg cameras are uneccssary. Resolution is more important than file size.

That's not entirely true because you can change the dimensions yourself.

Well that picture also depends on the DPI of the printer used and also the resolution used at the time.

You mean you haven't bought one yet? You've been looking for nearly three months. Seasons have changed, companies have been bought and sold and you still haven't made a decision on a $300 odd camera? Fmd you must be looking for the bargain of the century. By the time you buy one digital cameras will be obsolete.

I haven't been looking for 3 months, I started 3 months ago, then took a backseat for most of the time. Now that I'm jetting off again soon, I've started looking seriously. By the way I've already found one and will be picking it up tomorrow :)
