Good to see Russ getting noticed from his new club, straight into a full strength trial side is fantastic for him. It sure is a pity that he didn't shine with us, our coaches certainly didn't nurture him the way they should have...opting to throw him into high pressure situations without enough preparation...he never got a shot playing outside of Kimmorley.

Murray seems to be the guy that will look after him and it's excellent for him to be with a club that looks after their youngsters, I just hope that we learn from this.

I reckon he'll grab Firman's spot in the long run.

of course he will, and then the sharks will buy Firman back for ridiculous money.......if it wasn't a very real chance of happening it would be laughable :(

He was hopeless. Another player who can mix it in reggies but will never make the step up to 1st grade. Him leaving is no loss.

He's only very young, wasn't given the right oppurtunities at the right time and wasn't given enough individual coaching.

He has potential that can be developed and he made the right decision in leaving our club because as it is, we don't have the potential to develop him. The Cowboys do.

I hear you but I watched him for a number of years in Flegg and Reggies and he just seemed to be missing something. If he scored 4 tries against us when we play the CB's.....remind me of this convo. :)

What we may be forgetting when we talk about whether he should of been kept or not is, did he want to stay?

on the form he showed frenz, of course he'd want to leave and take any offer that was thrown at him.

He showed enough to suggest he could be a regular first grader IMO.

He now has an advantage. He's got a coach who will spend time with him one on one and work on his game. A coach who is a halfback no less. A coach with ability.

A coach .
