i'm still f**king seething over why aitken was on the bench instead of a forward

i'll give our forwards credit because i thought we'd get killed. but if we had another forward on the bench, we'd have given this game an even bigger shake

No one can blame Aitken for the loss. It is not his fault he was put on the bench and used with only 13mins to go and had no chance to leave a mark on the game. Sure we may have gone better with an extra forward but the game was ultimately lost through playing dumb football when it was there to be won and a hefty missed tackle count.

It will be interesting to see Raper's approach this week and see if he uses Russ on the bench again. Cant see it happening though.

and some people would rather see aitken stay and bird go ...

I think it's obvious who the better player is and it isn't Russell.

Both are good players with a lot of potential. Bird's a lock, not a 5/8th and Russ just needs time in 1st grade to develop (and put on some kilos).

Just remember what Adam "out on the full" Dykes was like when he started!

I think that while Noddy and Bird are out they have to pick him. Kent should move to 5/8th and Aitken should borrow Noddy's jumper.

Aitken and Kent in the halves will work. Especially with Peachey taking the pressure of them.

The only pressure peach is taking off is on various kegs around the tarps-unfortunately, so whats your point.

I thought it was fairly clear.

1. Peachey

6. Kent
7. Aitken

This week vs the Drags.

It seems I have been proven slightly wrong in my assumption of 'Bent' Kent. I have given it to him on previous occassions but to his credit has played pretty handily of late. Well done young man as for 'Acorn' Aitken I'll pass at this point suffice to say that he would have been picked on his merits and training track performances, so guys don't hang him out to dry just yet!

no, not aitken's fault. just hard to follow the reasoning behind the coach's decision. that game had to be won right up the middle... even though we lost it out wide (again)

remember when when we had a crack hot 3/4 line and were screaming out for quality halves and a tougher forward pack ? bloody hell can we just have it all NOW please ! bored of waiting

hey tom's back. how was poland ?

Thanks Spirit, haven't been to Poland in 10 years (Godawful country), just trapped in home rennovation for most of the year and got to my second game this season on Sunday. Being away from the action I felt I didn't have much to comment on.

But Russell was not the right man to have on the bench last Sunday, it should have been an extra forward, cause the game WAS to be won up the middle.

Kent and Gallen are the only alternative that works in defence and attack. Ok it will go better when Noddy and Birdy return. Really Atkien is not up to the NRL level yet. As for Peachy taking the preasure of anyone , what a joke. Peach is way to slow now and should be given a consultant and talent scout position at the club , a position he deserves and would be able to contribute over a long term.Simmonds is the prefured full back now, lets move on.

Dear oh dear, how quickly we forget. Peachey was killing them before he was injured this year. With him back this week, we will be a very competitive side. Aitken's defense is fine. I reckon we'll win.

Peach takes pressure off Sully and Kent by giving the team a valuable extra option in attack. His value to the team can be seen in his try-assist count. He is also safer than any of the current back three under the high ball

How many minutes did Aitken get today?

Another week of a wasted bench spot?

The NRL Stats show him making 1 tackle, anf 1 hit up for a gain of 0 metres, with 1 offload.

Nothign against Aitken, but why is he filling a bench spot that could be utilised better by someone else? E.G. A FORWARD.

If they wanted another back on the bench why not give Mellers ago. He can play in the second row if needed "would have been today" and he can play in the backs.

I'm over Aitken. Maybe he hasn't been given a fair go but hey, its the business end of the season now and his inexperience is nothing more then a liability.

Lets put another forward on the bench. 2 backs on the bench are wasted.

About 3 minutes. He came on after the klckoff at 20-12 and was running around like a mad man as you may expect from someone who spent 77 minutes on the bench.
