Can u believe this

From SMH:

SYDNEY ROOSTERS

Former Australian Schoolboy winger Albert Hopoate has turned down a contract extension to undergo training as a minister.

I was hoping he would come back to the Tigers but looks pretty unlikely now. :(

He was such a damaging player for the magpies I really thought he would make it to the highest level.

if he wants to he could come back in a year or two.. but i'd say he'd be pretty devoted to his religion, and a full time training schedule just wouldnt fit in with a full time religious life.. ministerial wise that is

You're enjoying it over there in Auckland by the sounds of it.

If he couldn't play would the roosters be offering him a contract extention. I doubt it. Anyway he probably has enough money to retire on after his last contract with the Roosters ;-)

I remember playing in the State Cup final (we only made it because of Kerr) in year 6 against this side from Doonside. They had two massive brothers. They looked like they were 16 not 11. Bill Anderson said to me at the presentation that he had doubts about their age. They carved us up 45-5, we scored first :) As good as they were even then you knew they werent going to be champions. It was merely that they were massive boys. There are a lot of examples of this running around in park football. For these kind of guys its like playing 3 or 4 age groups down. Sure you will carve up but you wont learn the skills required for NRL because you sheers size and strength is enough at that time

cheers

The chief reason why a team should not pay rediculous money for kids that age. Sucked in roosters!!!
