not sure if this has been mentioned but i did not notice this any where.

this is taken from rugby league week magazine.

australian indigenious under 16 captain albert kelly and deputy casey fraser will continue to be among the most hotly sought after players in the country, after spearheading there team 24-18 win against new zealand under 16's at suncorp last friday.

neither kelly nor fraser has confirmed there future, despite a wealth of suitors.

with a style not dissimilar to fellow nsw mid north coast products greg inglis and amos roberts, 5/8th kelly has played harold matthews sheild for parramatta, but recently passed on a 4 year deal propsal from the eels.

the dragons, broncos, roosters and eagles are also said to have registered their interest.

A fifteen year old..he wouldn't know what he wants...Not shaving yet...Big difference between under 16 footy and holding a Club to ransom.
For every good one, there's another one waiting for his chance..

Was posted in another thread, apparently he signed a 1 year contract with us for next year and will look for more money after that... I don't think he ruled out staying at Parra though.

kids his age are now running around with player managers, in this case Alberts Grandfather is looking after his affairs and it's very difficult when their dictated by another party which in some cases the welfare and stabiility of the player takes a back seat to the doller signs.

it's times like these I even begin to question why our club should even bother developing young players.

Can't see the problem with a young indiginous kid from the country having his grandfather look after him and his football affairs. Someone has to be there for him. His grandfather was quoted as saying he is very impressed with parra. You win some you lose some, it would be nice if we stopped trying to develop kids, hello roosters. No point worrying yet he might be an eel for life.

it's a good point you make and I wasn't actually targeting his grand father but more like managers of the calibre of the Orr brothers. If I was looking after Albert and had clubs like Manly, The Roosters and Melbourne knocking on my door I would owe it to the kid to atleast listen to them.

I agree most of the player managers are fleas, but the players give them a fee to do a job. It would of been nice to see him sign for 4 years but if he is going to be as good as everyone thinks we will find the money to match the vulture clubs, I hope.

he will be a demon of a player, our problem is that we have plenty of talented players at the club and we need to find money for all of them, not just Albert.

where is the money for Juniors taken from? is it accounted for or are clubs allowed to spend whatever they see fit in their lower grades?

seems a bit odd at 15 to knock 4 years back, but maybe they don't actually know what footy holds for the kid yet. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.
