This is the point - some people say he just catches it and falls over the line, but actually, the passes thrown by Latrell and Cody are often ‘no look’ or thrown in a split second as the winger/centre rushes them, for them to nearly always hit AJ on the chest isn’t just down to Latrell and Cody - it’s incredible timing and positional play by AJ. He very very rarely fluffs one.
If/when he takes the record, it’s only right he goes down as the greatest finisher in the history of the game in Australia (nobody will ever catch rugby leagues most prolific try scorer though).

Anyone who says that is a f**king lunatic. The game has been around for over 100 years. You don’t break a record that has been around this long by just falling over the line and anyone who thinks that is brain dead.

This is a f**king phenomenon achievement and I’m kinda stunned watching him blow past the record when you consider all the amazing players who couldn’t even come close.
