In his 16 first grade seasons, Irvine only played in 20 or more matches in first grade in 2 of those seasons, namely in 1969 for Norths where he played in 21 games and scored 17 tries, the other occasion being for Manly in 1971 where he played in 24 games scoring 15 tries.

The most tries Irvine scored in a season was 19 in 1959.

AJ is keeping me going.
Actually took 8 teenagers with me last night - my sons and their mates. When we got tickets, as we all went a to Souths v Dogs game, we thought he might have been a bit closer to record. With six more games I’m really hoping if we get the spoon, at least AJ matches the record.

I don't think it matters if we're allowed or not, I think many will just spontaneously leap the fence and rush on
